I love my little Pixie pants but she does bark A LOT. :p When Kat and Pixie came to visit me, Pixie barked so much and so loud that one of my neighbors rang my bell to complain. Pixie can bark for hours on end and it's super high-pitched (it's more shrill in person, trust me lol). I told Kat I was always a firm believer is not debarking a dog until I met Pixie lololol :D The only thing that has saved Pixie is her ADORABLE little face!! Kat can't get pissed off when she looks at those adorable little puppy eyes and that pinchable nose lol :D |
I have one just like her. My Chelsey barks at anything. I squirt her with a water bottle and it stops for for awhile but not long. At 4.2 lbs she is to small for a bark collar so we live with it too......... |
I just now played your video. Rudy comes over and is barking at the computer screen listening to Pixie barking. :D She does have a rather high pitched bark. Ah...... but she's so.... cute. :) :aimeeyork Thanks for sharing. |
Wow! Makes me so thankful that Jake isn't much of a barker! I'm at work, but when I get home, I'm going to give him a big snuggle and kiss for not being a barker.....lol |
Seth & Sasha started looking for the new puppy :p She sure has quite a bark but she is a beautiful baby. Good Luck! |
That girl sure does have a lot to say. I'm sure the neighbor dog has it coming! |
OMG ! Kathryn v, I know what you are going through! Remy has that high pitched bark too.I tried the automatic spray collar but her bark wouldnt make it spray so I switched to the spray collar with the remote control and that has done an amazing job of controlling her barking rampages. Yes I do have to stand there and hit the button on the remote when she starts to bark but I am there supervising her anyways so its not a big deal. When she wears the collar now she doesnt bark at all (she is six months old) It may still take some months of wearing the collar to get her totally reliable in being quiet but at least now I have my sanity. Eileen |
WOW! I guess PixiePie gets the :number1ri Best Barker Award :number1ri and her mom gets the :number1ri Most Patient Mom Award :number1ri Really/truly, Pixie needs JOB! She has way too much time on her paws.... |
Your telling me!!! Too much time indeed!!! lol But I love her sooooooo Much! |
Wow! That is loud!...and annoying. Wow Kathryn...you are patient! :D |
Yikes...that is super abnoxious Pixie!! Wow I dont know what I would do if mine carried on like that...too bad the collars won't work for her..but I can see why they dont hear the high pitched barks..yep I think Id have to talk to the vet about de-barking...lol..jk...I could never do that either...whats a girl to do?? Does she just bark like that at the neighbours..can you block the window...get a pull down shade or something so she cant see out?? That barking for 30 mins or more must wear her out!! Dawn |

When I moved from Northern Cali to Southern... I was in a big truck and drove through Rain for 90% of the drive! Major rain! She barked 80% of the time..... It was a. 11 hour drive when you factor in the stops! I honestly was VERY VERY tempted to leave her at a truck stop! I had only had her a couple of months and I was not as patient as I am now.... and my god, I was ready to hurt something! Talk about ROAD RAGE!   Pixie had me on EDGE! UGH! And such a :aimeeyork cute thing she is.... looks can be very decieving!!! Like a wolf in sheeps clothing! She hears noises.... I swear there are ghosts of dead dogs in this house! And she barks at them! LMAO! |
I am blessed, neither of my pups bark like that. They bark when they know someone is at the door, but stop when I say "Shhh! NO barking".... Hope your new neighbors are understanding .... that could be a problem ... good luck! |
My goodness she has a lot to say!! I would be at wits end if I had to put up with that! I have my fingers crossed that my Jeter is not like that when I get him! My sister has a barker and she had to get a shock collar for her because of the police being called on her for the noise. Well it did not work either! Hopefully you find something that will work! Good luck! |
Thanks to Pixie...I just had my laugh for the day :) The girl has one set of vocal cords...pixie high too! My Bella makes some weird nonstop chatter when my youngest son brings Mimi (Mini Dachsund) over to play...she almost sounds like a mother lion and it's nonstop! Thank goodness, other than that...she's pretty quiet & not yippy or yappy:animal36 |

I think Pixie is just got something to say...and a lot of it, too...lol! |
That would drive me mad! I had a pom that was the same way! I bought one of those remote shock collars as a last resort. I thought the collar was broken because it didn't faze my dog, but by god I shocked the piss out of myself when I checked to see if it was working! The thing that finally got our pom to stop was everytime she did it outside (this is going to sound soooo mean) we would turn the hose on full blast at her. (we'd sit with the hose in our hand everytime we went out, and if she started barking in the house we picked her up turned on the hose put her down and if she was still barking we'd spray her) I took about two weeks but it finally worked! Your poor husband and other "children"! They must go insane! Good Luck! |
OHHHHHH MYYYYYYYY:eek: . And I thought my cockatoo was BAD, rofl! Amazingly, nobody except for my husband ever complained even though I'm sure the bird could be heard for a half mile. I think there's some "special" animals out there and "special" people who are able to tolerate them (I mean, take care of them:p ).....as I used to ask Valentino, "were you possessed by the devil BEFORE you hatched or AFTER?", haha. The breeders told me one day "that bird is what YOU made him" . Oh well..... I sympathize with you; I know what it's like, but I guess when you love them so much, it's just something you deal with. It's either that or go crazy, LOL. And we're not crazy, are we:confused:  ? I have to say though, that Max was just now staring at the computer trying to figure out where that noisy doggie was, LOL:) . |
I thought Loki and Sammy were bad.. :D You can buy the citronella in cans. Then you don't need anything to trigger it. Also, try a gentle leader or muzzle. I've found Loki barks less at the neighbors dogs when he's wearing his GL. |
Wow! My ears! Actually, I feel for your neighbors. They have to hear the noise without the delight of being around the adorable little cutie. |
her bark is so cute.. I woulldn't mind it at all;) |
