This is a picture of my granddaughter, Brianna, and Samantha Love. Sammy is five months old now. One of her ears stands up and the other one doesn't. Do you think the one that doesn't stand up will eventually? Sammy has met my two Bichons and she didn't know what to think of them. They must look big to her. They were sweet to her and she settled down and touched noses with them. School is out now and Brianna will be spending some time with me with and Sammy will come with her sometimes. We're going to have a good time.

At 5 months the ear probably should have already come up if t were going to on its own. You need to shave it and tape it up

Flop Ears
 
My daughter's male yorkie had a flop ear for almost a year--somedays it would be up, other days it would be down...Now they are both straight up and BIG!

Have fun with the granddaughter and puppy! It will be a house full for you!:D

That's what I thought. I don't think my son and daughter-in-law will shave the ear and tape it up. They don't care if it comes up or not. I hope it does, eventually, but it really doesn't matter and it isn't my decision. Here's a picture with one ear up and one ear down. She needs to be groomed, I think, but I don't give advice or make suggestions unless I'm asked. I would be taking her to a groomer and would have her trimmed short and shave and tape the ear. Her coat mats easily and she doesn't like to be brushed. I think they're making it harder for her to learn that she has to be groomed. They love her very much and she gets excellent care, so I'm not going to butt in about grooming or ears.

I'll just keep hoping that her ears come up naturally. Meanwhile, we'll just love her and enjoy having her around. Yes, I'll have a house full with Sammy and my two Bichons, but we'll have lots of fun.

They'll both be perked up soon..dont worry! I was worried about Daisy's ears for a while..infact, I thought she was ''defective'' ((lol..I know, I would love her still :p )) She was a ''late bloomer'' and her ears were 'up and down 'or 'one up and one down' for quite a while. They eventually went up at around 6 months and stayed up since. :)

I know exactly how you feel! Also, aren't they so funny looking with one ear up. hehe

I hope Sammy is a late bloomer, too, but it won't matter. We all love her just the way she is. She is funny looking when one ear goes all the way up and the other one is all the way down. She's still pretty much a wiggly little puppy, full of licks and kisses, and very sweet. She has trouble sitting still and loves to hop from one lap to another. She is potty trained and goes into her crate when told to, so she is growing up and learning manners. My two Bichons wanted to play with her so much, but she wasn't relaxed enough to play with them. Maybe the next time they get together.
