It's so sad reading some of these posts. Especially the ones that are about missing pups...... - It turns my stomach that people can take someones' pet and not think twice about it. It truly is wrong - how do they live with themselves - I worry constantly about Baxter getting away from me and getting lost - but to have to fear someone coming onto my property and just taking him really gets me - I've said before I've always had big dogs - Never really had this fear - Once they reached a certain size/age - they weren't going anywhere - but these little guys have so much more to worry about - Sorry - just needed to vent - We all have so much in our lifes to worry about - we certainly don't need this added to it. |
I worry about it all the time also. Me & hubby have an hour in between me leaving for work & him getting home. I close the sliding storm shutters on the lanai & lock them, since they have access to that area. I'm afraid someone might come & slice the screen & steal them in that time. It's horrible to what the world has become on theft. No longer stealing penny candy, but pets & children. Nothing is safe. |
Yeah, Im afraid too. I had a guy on a bike a few weeks ago joke about taking Izzy, saying that he is worth 2 grand. Good thing he doesnt know where I live. But I don't think he was joking, if he could he would take him and sell him for the $$. Sick isnt it? So know when take him for a walk, Im constantly on the lookout and I carry mase. When he is at home I worry too. I dont have air conditioning so I leave the windows cracked (with a security lock so it cant go up any further) open but I keep the blinds closed. I used to leave them up so he can look out the window but I only do it when Im home now.:( |
It is a serious concern & a very real one .....it comes w/ owning a yorkie, one of the popular breeds today.....I'm glad my house is surrounded by trees so it's very hard to see in, if it wasn't I'd always worry every time my yorkies where outside if someone driving by was marking my house to come back to steal them...all my activities are about their safety now....they NEVER go away w/ me unless someone is in the car w/ them at ALL times....I don't like any one coming to my home unless I know them, if some one does come I don't know ( ex ample:when we sold a car, had a tree removal estimate, or the septic man came) they are kept in the house out of site.....I even stopped taking them to the pet store & the park.....it may sound a little paranoid but I just feel the fewer people that know their here the better.... |
IT IS SICK RIGHT??? I just want to keep mine locked in the house, but what kinda life is that? My house is alarmed and it is on all the time. I never bring them in car rides if they can't go into the store with me. I don't advertise (anymore) that I own Yorkies. I used to be so proud and had a smile from ear to ear, but now I am guarded. I tell no one about them (except here of course). |
I know that other's yorkie have come up missing and yes, it could happen to anyone, even me. I feel really safe in my neighborhood and I very seldom worry about their safety, or people breaking into my house because I live in a gated community where entrance is very limited. The gate is timed only enough for one car to pass and it doesn't reopen like the gates at apartment communities. My neighbors have yorkies, maltese, shih tzus and many designer breeds that are popular running around in the neighborhood all the time. With that being said, it doesn't mean it can't happen to us. It can happen to anyone at any given time. Lets hope and pray that none of yorkies or other pets get taken away from us. |
We have to worry about our children now we have to worry about our pets too. What a sick world we are living in today. The all mightly dollar is more important to some than life itself. These people have no concidence or fellings what so ever. It's so sad. Buddy is larger so for me it turned out to be a blessing I guess. He would not go so readily to anyone. I couldn't imagine life without him in it. Watch your babies, skin and fur very closely and be safe. Scary to think your being watched. |
