Yorkie Seizures My four year old male yorkie suddenly had what appeared to be a seizure. He was fine earlier and suddenly feel on his side shaking and stiff. I gave him a little food and he came around a few minutes later. Does anyone know if this is a condition that shows up in yorkies? We have had him for two years and has been very healthy. He is a 7 lb yorkie and has a good appetite so don't know what could have caused this sudden attack. Is it possible that he didn't touch his food in his dish during the day and had sudden drop in blood sugar? Any ideas?? |

Have you ever had your baby bile acid tested? Yorkies have a high occurence of liver shunt/mvd...Many times it shows up by the age of one, but there are several instances where it has been diagnosed at 2, 3, 5, 8 and even 9 years of age. The test is fairly cheap(around $45) and will give you peace of mind regarding this issue. Has your baby ever had hypoglycemic episodes? |
