Acting weird! Help!! 2 Attachment(s) Guys for the last week or so Rocky is acting different. He runs around a lot more at home and plays with his toys. Sometimes when i try to pick him up or take away a toy he becomes very angry and barks or bites at the same time, something he has not done before. Worst of all, at night, around 4-5am he wakes me up by making sounds, high pitched sounds, almost as if he is crying and he wount stop unless i pick him up and put him on my bed, something that has never happened before either. He is still sweet most of the times, but once a day he has these outbursts. What is going on??? Could it be that he is becoming a teenager? He is almost 6 month old. I really don't want to neuter him, but I'm afraid I will have to if this behavior is an indication of things to come. He is 3.8 lbs for the last month, will he be OK with the surgery? Should I do it? Thanks! |
I think he sound normal to me. |
I think I may have read somewhere that they go throught a phase around this age, but I thought it may have been more like "clingy" than what your describing. I'm sure someone will be able to help you. Hang in there. It's probably normal. Maybe just a defiant stage or something. |
I think dogs can change some over time just like people do, and your baby is growing up. I think you should neuter him. He will be fine. Find a vet that is familiar with toy breeds. They'll do pre-op bloodwork on him to make sure everything is fine. It's a one time thing that you won't have to worry about again. |
My 5 month old pup also does this (also a boy). I think it is normal. Just try to be consistent with him and enforce your rules so that he knows where the boundaries are. And don't pick him up if he is waking you up by crying. Even if you wake up, don't give him his way. This will create problems later on. Hope this helps.:) |
Sounds like he just wants your attention when he cries to come to bed with you:) As for neutering, Rebel was 3 lb 5 oz when he was neutered and he was absolutely fine. |
