tinkerbell not listening I have a question my dog is 6 months old. And she has a love for socks she sees a sock no matter if clean or dirty grabs it and runs I have to admit that she looks so cute that I do have to laugh but it has become a little agravating for me. She runs under the bed and will not let go of it!!! Ialso admit that she is my baby and is way above and beyond spoiled!!another thing is that I call her and she never comes to me she is very stubborn I actually have to put my baby voice and then maybe just maybe she will come to me. It upsets me because today my son opened my front door and she just took off and ran he had to run after her to catch her. What do guys think I should do?? |
All socks are evil and must be tortured!!! Just Kidding. Otis tries to grab my pantlegs while I"m putting them on. Aren't they cute when they do annoying things like this!!!! |
Otis runs out of doors too. I put a smaller version of an ex-pen in front of the front door so he doesn't have access to people coming and going. He would take off if given the chance. I have to be very careful when people come in and out. |
they are to cute!!what is a x-pen???never heard of it? i guess this is something normal in yorkies, i do admit that she is toooo adorable!!! |
its funny when i clean the room you will find 6 to 8 single socks under the bed and i have to laugh but it does become annoying. this morning at 4 am i couldn't sleep so i fixed the kids clothes for summer camp early (had nothing to do)what does tinkerbell do grabs a sock thats bigger than her and runs, so i'm running after her (at 400am!!!)and she is so quick i can't catch her:)i gave it up eventually she let her guard down and i got it:) |
Zada doesn't give socks or any other article of clothes a second look, but Azrael flops all over clothes if they are on the floor. She looks like a fish that is on dry land. Well, it does sound like she needs some basic training. Have you thought about obedience training? |
At least she's doing that with socks and not your underwear...LOL |
I had to get my youngest, Tommy, his own recieving blanket to carry around! My whole family, except for my husband, have their own "blankies" they carry around. Tommy was always stealing my youngest "skin" babies blanket and hiding it from us. That is when I decided to give him his own "blankie" and now he rarely steals. Maybe you can give her own little basket of socks! |
I had to get a baby gate to use in the hallway so when someone opens the front door my two little terrors won't get outside. Toby got out the front door one time and he ran until he just couldn't run anymore and I was terrified he was going to be hit by a car. Both my yorkies also love socks so all of daddy's old socks with holes in them get tied together so we can have a sock pull with them but I still have to keep an eye on any laundry baskets or my little thieves will have clothes strung out all over the house. It's actually quite funny watching them running around with those clothes but I don't tell them that. :^) |
Holy cow, you painted an exact picture of my yorkie Autumn to a tee! Your not alone. I use to think the sock thing was cute until she gets so far under the bed that I can not reach her or the sock that is now stuck:eek: ! Hubby has become very tired of picking up the entire bed so I can reach under it. |
It's an exercise pen that some people use for confinement. You can do a search and see some pics. They have them pretty reasonably priced at walmart on line. |
Cathy, have you considered taking obedience classes with your pup? Besides being fun, you would learn some very useful commands like "come" and "drop it". It really is a fun thing to do with your pup!:D |
PetEdge has the expens cheaper than any place I have seen. I have two sets, and am going to get two more. They are the best investment yet. Take them to visit someone who doesn't have a fenced yard, on pic-nic's, camping, traveling in the motor home, or even at home to maybe put around a flower bed that you don't want dogs in. You can use them to block off a wide doorway. I use one to circle the front door so they can't get out. I can't imagine not having one with a new puppy either. |
yes i have thought of doing classes with her but right now my oldest son is sick and between all doctor visits and working i have no time. it does upset me because she is already 6 months old. hopefully things will get better with him so i can give her those much needed classes she needs but i do have to admit she is my spoiled little girl. does your baby watch you when ur eating because tinkerbell does and that i have to admit i don't like. when my boys are eating what i do is put her in her crate but all she does is bark(screaming let me out,let me out:() any way any opinions and that??? |
