stay away little froggies!!!!!! We often have frogs around our property and the other night Jaxon came inside and we noticed he was foaming at the mouth!!!! I think he had tried to grab a frog or had picked it up and got sprayed/repelled. It was so awful!!! We quickly rinsed his mouth out and gave him lots of water. He seemed ok afterwards and was fine the next day. I'm hoping he learned his lesson! |
Yuck Bet that wasn't tasty at all!!!! |
Poor Jaxon! he just wanted to play with Mr. Frog! :D |
Hopefully he won't do that agian. I am glad he is okay I was thinking that I hope it was a frog and not a cain toad! Those are so poisonous for dogs!:( Then again it depends on where you live. |
poor Jaxon. Max did that a a while ago and vomited when he came back into the house. I'm not sure if he learned his lesson, though  ... I hope Jaxon did :) |
yea...my muffie has had that so many times. all she has to do is lick it and she foams terrible. |
Oh wow - mine are the Masters of Toad Hunting. I ripped my shoulder throwing those little sucka's over my fence and still feel the pain ....They're super annoying at night aren't they ? What I do is keep a container outside to scoop them up and wing them over my fence & I'll barehand them too - The key is to watch for is little hopping yorkies lol - you can always tell when they find a toad |
We saw our first frog of the summer last night and of course Lacy just went crazy wanting to get to it. The first summer I had Lacy she attacked a frog and started foaming at the mouth. I freaked out and called the emergency vet and told them what was happening. They asked me to describe the frog. The told me the only poisonous ones around were toads as big as plates and this one ws only about the size of my fist. They told me that frogs secrete things through their skin and the taste made her foam at the mouth. They told me she should be fine but to watch her and if anythign changed to bring her in. Well the next summer she got another frog...you'd think she'd learn the first time but at least this time I knew she was fine. |
