Saturday, June 16, Savannah became a new mommy of three little Yorkie's, two boys and one girl. They weighed 2 ounces each. Savannah had a C-section scheduled for that afternoon, and the vet told us she had already started contractions, so we got her there none too soon! She had a C-section because 2 were breech and I didn't want any of them dying. Her last pregnancy, she delivered 3, but the last one was breech and was dead when it was born.

I am keeping the little girl, but selling the little boys when they are about 12 weeks old.

Congratulations!

Glad all went well. They are very sweet. It never fails to amaze me how different these little dogs look every few weeks during their first year or so.

You are so right--The first time I saw a Yorkie baby, I was not sure if the breeder was trying to pull the wool over my eyes--I had never seen one as a tiny baby and he looked so different! They do change daily and are adorable all the time.

Congratulations on your new litter! All cuties!

Congratulations!!! They are just too precious. My Gidget just had 4 on the 12th. The 2nd one came out feet first and I had to help her, but we got him out just fine and all is well.

Small world, I didn't know you were a member. Long story short Lorna knows a friend of mine. she was going to breed with a male Wanda had, but once she saw Sprout she wanted him. She drove all the way down to TX to breed with our Sprout. Everyone who went to the YT Houston meet-up will remember Sprout:p Savannah the mom is a real cutie. I attached a pic of Sprout so you all can see the Daddy.

Savannah is a little overweight, but she will lose it after the puppies stop nursing. She's supposed to weigh 4 lbs., but she's up to 6 lbs right now. What can I say? She's a pig! I'll put her back on maintenance food after the puppies are weaned and she will get back to where she should be. The daddy weighs 3 lbs. and is adorable! I wanted to take him right home with me, but Cindy loves him and is a really good mother to Sprout. I think these little pups are going to be exceptional Yorkies. My vet loves Savannah and thinks she is an A-1 Yorkie, straight back, laid back and very friendly! I'm hoping the puppies will have her disposition. Sprout is very affectionate, too! That, and he's as cute as a button. That's why I fell for him!

Momma and babies are doing fine! The babies are gaining 1/4 ounce a day so far. They now weight 2 1/4 ounces, except for the girl, who only weighs 2 ounces. I gave her a supplemental feeding today, but don't think she really needed it. They don't cry much, only when Savannah gets out of the crate and leaves them. I moved them to a larger crate so Savannah could get away from the heating pad, but the babies cried so much because without their eyes open and all that space, they couldn't find Savannah or their siblings. I put them back in the smaller cage and they are happier. Tomorrow I take them to get their dew claws removed and their tails docked, poor little tykes. I know they will cry loudly and that makes me feel terrible.

They sound like little kittens when they cry! Savannah weighs 6 lbs. now, but she's only supposed to weigh 4 lbs. She's a little pig! I had her on maintenance food to bring her weight down, but then we bred her, so she's on combination puppy food and adult food with a teaspoonful of cottage cheese to help her milk supply. The daddy weighs 3 lbs. so these puppies will grow up to be between 3 and 4 lbs.

Congratulations!! Savannah's babies are precious. She and Sprout are both beautiful ... can't wait to see their babies grow! Thanks so much for sharing! ;)
