I finally wore Adie out! Adie is 13 months old now and a ball of energy. She learned that "go fetch" was a really fun game and every night when I come home she grabs one of her little tennis balls and nags me until I start throwing it for her. I sit on the couch and either throw the ball way past her or right to her so she can catch it. She returns it by running up the stairs I have in front of the couch. Her cue to stop playing is me laying down on the couch. Sometimes she keeps nagging me though. That's what she did last night. I decided I was going to see just how long she can run back and forth. She went top speed over and over again for a solid hour and forty-five minutes. She finally put the ball down on the floor and stood there looking at me like I was supposed to say something. I had noticed she slowed down coming back the last few trips. Even at that though she was nagging me again after a 15 minute break. So we went for another 15 minutes. GEEZ! My dh thinks I shouldn't do things like that because her little heart might burst from working so hard. What do you guys think? She stopped when she felt like it so I see no harm in it and now I know just how long it tales to get her good and tired. An hour walk doesn't do it! LOL |
I think "fetch" is a great way to wear them out! Walks don't even cut it for Hootie and Hobbs. I like to take them to the tennis courts, which is fenced in, close the gates, and throw the ball for them across the tennis court. This really wears them out and it's great exercise for them! |
Sounds like my joey, he can go on & on & on for ever:rolleyes: I get so tired of throwing it, he wears me out way before i can wear him out, he only has one toy he really likes and its a rubber red mouse, its just about had it las throw and i have been looking every where and no one has them:( |
I hid all of Adie's balls once so she couldn't bring them to me and she just picked another toy for me to throw. LOL. Joey will find a new favorite, I'm sure. (Bless his little mouse chasing heart!) LOL |
