New Yorkie I'm new to the site. I will be getting my new female yorkie next week. The breeder told me she was 8oz at 6 weeks. can anyone estimate how big she will be as an adult? |
That is a very, very tiny dog. It depends on the size of her parents, and of her other ancestors, and still, its anybody's guess whether she'll have a growth spurt or stay small. How old is she now? Do you know how much she weighs now? |
HI welcome to yt! Here is a link to the growth chart.... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16045 It really is anyones guess though they don't always stay true to the chart. How old will your baby be when she comes home? |
Welcome to YT! Cat wait to see your new furbaby! |
New Yorkie She will be 9 weeks old. Do you have any pointers that would help me train and prepare her for her new home, and make the transition easier? |
I wouldn't bring her home till she's at least either 12 weeks or 2 pounds. They need to be with their moms and also be at a healthy weight. |
Welcome YT is so cool. There is a wealth of knowledge here. my 2 cents are this: When we got Bella I didn't have job so I was lucky in the fact that I had all the time in the world to train her. Potty training was the worst but if you have patience its not so bad. The questions you need to ask as far a potty training is concerend is out side or litter box training. Either way after they eat is when the do their business as puppies so make sure you put them in the place where you want them to potty right after they eat; and keep them there until they do their business. Then renforce the good behavior with treats. good luck hope to see pics soon. |
Bonding with new puppy I just got my new puppy yesterday,She is 10 weeks old. She really doesn't like me holding her to much but likes when my brother and his friends does. does anyone have and suggestion on how I can bond with my new puppy? |
Welcome and congratulations!!! I would not let everyone hold her so much. Let her get use to her new home and explore while you watch her closely. She will bond with you just give her time. I got Cali from a breeder in Rockton, Il which is close to Rockford! |
Congratulations on the new addition! :D I'm glad to see you waited a little longer before getting her. She's still adjusting to her new home, so it might take a little while. Just make sure to feed her and be around her a lot, so she knows she's your baby. |
Thanks for the comments. I have been keepin my eyes on her at all times. dont want her using the Bathroom every were so.... Shes been doing really well with the puppy pads, she goes to it without me having to take her, What do you think about the obidence school? |
