Eating Accommodations... We have noticed that Josie will not eat untill we all sit down to eat. Then when she starts eating she will get food in her mouth and walk to the living room which is all carpet and eat. She will do this till she's done with her meal. Is this weird or is she just being picky? Does anybody else's dog do this? |

Macy does the same thing with her food. she will pick up her food from the bowl and then walk into the next room to eat it and then come back and do the same thing over again. lol |

LoL, that is too cute... my baby, wont eat unless im there and he can see me. He goes down for a bit, and immediately looks up to see if im still there... after he chews and swallows, he goes down for another quick bite, and looks at me again.. its like, if he is looking at me, i wont leave him... if i walk away, then he wont eat. LoL, its funny. Its a good thing he is sooo damn cute, otherwise we might have problems, especially with this whole potty training thing. |

Mia does the same thing! She won't eat unless we're home. She'll take her food from her bowl in the kitchen then bring it to whatever room we're in to eat and she'll do this until she's done eating. Sometimes she'll play with her food too, she'll throw it in the air and growl, she's sooooo funny :) I also find she loves to bring her food on the carpet. We have a area rug in our living room and she always brings her food there. My husband and I say she's lucky cuz with all the trotting she does from the kitchen to the living room, she's burning calories :) |

Hi Josie and Veronica (weren't those members of Josie and the pussycats? or Archie??) anyway, my Chloe will very often take the bigger pieces of meat to the kids' beds, (maybe for a midnight snack?) and on several occasions they have woken up with chicken stuck to their backs! |

Ramsey's food is in the kitchen and he will only eat if someone is in the kitchen. Sometimes he will go in there by his self but not often. I dont want to put his bowl anywhere else because that is the only room without carpet. And I already clean enough of his accidents there. |

Hallie won't eat unless I'm staring at her. She gets a mouthfull of food, looks at me, and chews with her mouth open, never taking her eyes off me. Simon likes to eat one kibble at a time after placing all of it on the floor. Sometimes he likes me to throw it across the room so he can play and eat at the same time. They are so silly! |

Caleb does the same thing. He takes the first couple bites of food from the bowl in the kitchen to the carpet in the living room, and he also doesn't like to eat if I'm not standing nearby where he can see me. It's like if something is going to happen, he doesn't want to miss it. He was actually really into eating one day and I tried to sneak away to see if he would notice, and sure enough he came running after me and wouldn't go back to eating until we were in the kitchen again later that night. Too funny, I thought it was just him! |

Thanks everybody, now I know I don't have a little weird-o! It's still kind of odd though. Quote:
That's so fuuny I've never even thought of it. My husband loves & been collecting those Archie comic books since he was a kid! I'm going to show him this thread. Maybe it was a master plan and that's why he named her and didn't like any of my names for her. Hummmm... |

Both of mine did the same thing, bringing the food onto the carpet, then we put hardwood in the front room, that was an open invitation to bring the bowel into the front room...not everyone has the food in the front room, but we do,cant make them stay in the kitchen,we put hardwood there too.. |

Memphis doesn't wait for me to eat but when he is hungry he will go get a mouthful of food and bring it wherever I am. Which is really annoying when I am putting laundry away and he has to bring his food onto my bed. Then when I go to bed at night i have all those little crumbs and crunchies left in the sheets. |

Linus does the same thing! Only he get a full mouth, and then run full speed into whatever room we are in and eat it under our feet. And he does this for about a half an hour until he's full. I think he burns as many calories as he eats. |

These are such funny stories. What idiosyncracies our yorkies have. I "free feed" my yorkies so I don't pay a lot of attention to them when they eat, but Chai prefers to eat out of my hand or off the floor. She will only eat out of the bowl if she is really hungry. She eats a lot more than Hefner and loves snacks. Hefner doesn't eat until about 11 am and then he eats a couple other times (small amounts) They both like to eat off the carpet or rug if it is just snacking. |

I'm glad my girl isn't the only one who does this! Kona has to eat on the carpet. Her bowl is in the kitchen, which is tile, so she goes back and forth only eating one piece at a time. When she was a baby, she used to take one piece and run all the way back to jump in her bed to eat it (which is around the corner in the living room!) and then would go back and get another. It was really cute and funny. Now that she's slightly older (and more impatient with her food), she's satisfied just stepping onto the carpet and eating each piece. |
