Shivering Jaw Does your yorkie's jaw ever shiver? Max does the silliest thing, every time he smells something he likes (ie: Missy's rear end, a new doggies rear end, treats etc) his mouth shivers. The shiver looks like a cross between how your jaw would shiver on a cold day and like he is tasting the air. He stands there very still and his mouth moves like that, it lasts a few minutes or until I pick him up and kiss and cuddle him. It looks so cute but its so silly. Its almost as if the smell puts him in a daze and he is mesmerized with it. LOL! :p :rollingey :shocked7q :grin2: |
That is soooo funny!! Sounds like he's almost tasting the smell. :p |
Bella does the same thing, but (I hate to say it) it is only during "that time of the month" or more like "that time of the year" and she cleans herself and I make her stop (it grosses me out) and her jaw won't stop. First couple of times I am thinking some kind of seizure disorder, but then I realized it was only during that time so I just didn't worry about it. |
That is soooo funny!! Poor baby .... now that's excited!! ;) |
Yes, All my dogs have done that when they smell something Funky like bird poop, the Q Tip after cleaning thier ears...gross stuff like that *giggle* |
LOL! All your replies are so funny :p Missy is in heat right now so Max's jaw is shivering almost all day! LOL :dribble: Only Max does the shivering jaw thing, Missy never has. I noticed he did this shortly after bringing him home, at 1st I thought something was terribly wrong. I picked him up and it stoped right away, then I knew he was just being silly :animal-sm |
Jennette- Max is a hoot! I can just see him now! |
Baby will do this when she wants one of her toys very badly!!!!!!1 |
Maddie does that too...usually when she is waiting for me to throw a toy. It looks so funny and it is interesting knowing other yorkies do that too! |
