Jealous!! Does anyone else have this problem? Pita is very jealous. She will bark and bark if my boyfriend and I get close at all. Especially if we kiss each other. She has become very partial to him since I have gotten her. She spends most of her time with him. She will sleep between us at night and nudge her way in between us if we are close. Is there anything I can do to stop this? It was cute in the beginning when she started getting jealous...but it is getting to be a problem. |
It's that alpha thing.......I guess she thinks she's the boss of you. And I'm told that can happen if they share your "den". She doesn't see you as alpha.. That's what I have been told - others may have a different opinion. :) |
lol it looks like you are "the other woman" haha just kidding.. But anyway Bailey does this too... If she is sitting with me on me or near me and my boyfriend trys to kiss me, tickel me, hug me or do anything she goes crazy at him and starts barking and nipping... I dont really know why, I guess they dont like to share...they have to be the center of attention and if me and my boyfriend or in your case you and your boyfriend are kissing or cuddling then that means that the attention isnt completely on them GOD FORBID! haha I have no idea how to resolve the problem... Maybe when she starts get aggresive with you put her down until she calms down |
My boyfriend and I just moved in together about a month ago, so before this she was just fine. Never really minded too much. But now....she does not like it. She used to get individual attention from either me at my appartment or him at his, so now that we are living together. I guess your right, she feels she needs to be the center of attention. Sometime we even put her out side the door and she will just sit out there and bark...in her highest voice available to her. We can never have any time alone with out some romantic background sound of a small dog barking in the hall. |
Jake gets jealous, but he doesn't bark or growl. When my grandchildren are over and sitting close to me, he squeezes his little butt right between us and gives us kisses. :) He just wants to be part of it all. Sometimes if my hubby and I are sitting on the couch together, Jake will lay across my lap and look at hubby like he's thinking "MY mommy". But, he never gets aggressive and he's not much of a barker. We always just give him extra attention, and then he's fine. |
My haylee gets jealous , at first it was just with other animals. like if i called my other yorkie killer, or our cat, shed run at them and nip, not letting them get close to me. The other night though i guess when my boyfriend was coming to sleep(i was already sleeping) she started attacking him. silently, as not to wake mommy up:P hahaha i laughed when he told me. but he didn't find it to funny:P weird though because shes never done it before, i guess she wouldnt stop nipping his hands and stuff, so he left, came back and she did it again, then left and came back and finally she stopped and just laid between us. |
