1 Attachment(s) Okay this is what it looks like from under a magnifying glass. I tried to draw it the best way that I can. The arrow is pointing directly to the incision that was made. Maybe it was a way for them not to forget where they cut him. I think that is really stupid. |
Maybe it was made with a blue Sharpee and has not come off yet. Try spraying hairspray on it and see what happens. Hairspray will make ink spread....... |

But, take the advice of Janell. I hope it's just a marker! |
well first I was trying to figure out why you put baseballs in the picture LOL sorry and then I realized DUH! Huh I would ask the vet and if so find out WHY. good luck .... |
If only they could talk:( I hope you can get to the bottom of this mystery. |
I'm about to find out right now. I'm at the office waiting for the vet to finish up with the patient he have right now. (I'm on my cell phone) It's really hard to use this stuff. :D BTW, the hairspray didn't work so I'm guessing it wasn't ink. |
On humans before surgery the surgeon will mark out the area with a sterile marker, but it usually washes off pretty easy. Maybe they were marking the incision area and used a sharpie instead of a surgical marker. |
omg sooo anxious to know what this is? now off the topic i have to say i love the baseball idea in the pic, you know a dog has to have his pride man, i hope they can tell you what it is, i was thinking maybe it was marker cause they marked me before my surgery but it would have came off with the hairspray or a bath by now? but anyway keep us updated |
I know racing greyhounds are tattooed in the ears because I use to do greyhound adoptions...but I have to say it looks like one to me... Nancy, Sami & Lily |
This is like a mystery that we can watch unravel. Since Buttercup is at the VET right NOW!!! How cool is that? Loved those baseballs, too. |

Okay the vet did say it was a tatoo and promised up and down he didn't do it. I took him to another vet like someone suggested and they said it was definitely a tatoo that wasn't done correctly. I am furious! I was arguing with the vet that denied what he did and he asked me to leave. He said that Buttercup's files have nothing about getting tatooed and he said that wasn't his work. Now what am I suppose to do? Just let it go like nothing ever happened? I feel like my trust was violated. I did not give anyone at that office permission to tatoo my little baby. |
I know this may sound like a really stupid question but, since he wasn't tattooed before you took him and now he is, and the vet says he didn't do it....are you sure you got the right dog when you picked him up or could he maybe have been switched with another one at the vet?? |
Maybe another yorkie was set to be tattooed and they mixed them up and that is why they also dont' want to admit to it. I would have made the only scene in that office. |
I still think that they started to tattoo and realized their mistake on the wrong dog and blurred it out. Maybe the vet's scared to "come clean".? |
