bows that stay in???? Does anyone know where I can get some bow clips that actually stay in? I don't like the elastics because they pull out my baby's hair. I tried to find those little french barrets to make my own but nobody carries them! I went to every craft store I know of! I can't seem to find any other clips that stay in his hair. Please help!:( |
I don't think any of the barrettes stay in their hair long without an elastic as well. If Lacy wears a barrette I first pull her hair up with a little elastic before putting the barrette in. It seems to stay in fine then. Maybe a yorkie with a really thick topknot could keep one in without an elastic but Lacy's hair is too fine for that. |
my yorkie's hair never stay in without elastic. |
thanks guys for responding:) Micah does have really thick hair, but the clips still do fall out. I was hoping there was some kind of special clippy thingy that would work. I guys i'll have to stick with the elastics, all well:rolleyes: |
Metal Butterfly Clips Work Great! I just got a bunch of metal butterfly clips (with sparkly butterflies on them) and have been trying them on my girls today. My puppy has thick hair and the adult has very thin hair on her head. I was surprised at how well they stayed in (all day!). And if they did slip a little it was very easy to adjust, not a major ordeal like using the bands. I really like them much more than I thought I would. I thought they were pretty, but probably impractical until I tried them. I will be using them most of the time now instead of bands, even for every day around the home (unless I have a special bow that matches an outfit). They don't break the hair when you take them out. I had tried the plastic ones for babies previoiusly, but they fell out really easy. These are not like that. Anyway, sorry to go on, I was just so surprised. I bought them to sell but will probably sell less than originally planned now because I have found out how great they are so I will be keeping most of them for me. If you have a boy I guess you could take the sparkles off and just use the metal clip or maybe glue something else on in place of the butterflies. Try the name brand (Goody) baby barrettes- the kind that come in all shapes, in pastel and bright colors, they're plastic and sold at the drugstore in a pack of like 25 for $2. We use those, and they work great in both Emma and Milli's hair! I've also purchased these TINY claw-type clips in bright colors from the baby section at Target-I think they were 12 for $3 or so. They're a little tiny claw that you pinch and put in the hair. It works best to gather the hair and twist a little so it's easier to put the clip in, and so the hair stands up the way you want it. I use these on both my furgirls, and as they get bigger and get more hair, you can use the little ones for pigtails, and graduate them to the larger clips and bows. |
