Quick Info to leave for YORKIE SITTER I'm going away and can't bring Riley with me. I am leaving her with a family friend, but I need to give her info on food, care, etc. What are the most important things to write down for her just in case of anything, like a short list that she can refer to? Thank you. Riley will be with her for about a week. |
--Food instructions --No leash attached to collar (use harness only, explain why) --Potty instructions --Sleep habits --Vet location, number --Micro chip info --Any bad habit/behaviour info, what to do --Toy/chew habits - no rawhide or whatever That's the info I leave... |
A schedule, if you have one. Be specific if your dog has a routine. Any special safety concerns, ie. Make sure basement door stays closed. Check latch on back gate. There is a huge, mean dog next door, etc. Your cell # and/or number where you will be staying. Vet's #. If the friend is keeping rather than watching at your house, make sure you have familiar bedding and favorite toys on hand. Might also want to throw in a sweatshirt or T-shirt you've worn to comfort them. (My guy sleeps on one of my pillows when I'm on a business trip.) |
What your baby can and cant eat explain why tooo if on any medicine what times to give the medicine tell her to wipe your baby's but after pooping dont want crusties back there when you get back |
Depending how long you are going to be away, you can arrange for your yorkie sitter to drop of your yorkie to the groomer so your sitter gets a bit of a break and you know that your yorkie has been thoroughly cleaned at least once. We'll be gone for a month and this is what we're planning on doing. |
When I went away for the week and I had my pups stay with someone else I left instructions too. I pretty much said to not leave anything around that could get chewed bc it WILL get chewed and its not the dogs fault. (warn them that they need to watch what they do too) and said only to give them food & treats that I packed for them. Fresh water everyday. Teach them HOW to put the harness on so they do it correctly. I find it easier to make sure they are bathed and brushed before you go so your sitter does not have to do it while you are gone. But I dont know how long you'll be gone for. I was only gone for a week. I packed up their favorite toys, bed and gates! OH I also warned them about feeding table scraps, that onions and chocolate are poisonous. I left them the emergency vet #s that is closest to THEIR house since my dogs were at their house. Oh its so hard leaving your pup for any length of time! good Luck! Im sure your sitter will do fine! |

Along with everyone else's suggestions, I'd leave an emergency vet number just in case. Also, a number to a friend or relative who is close by. Leave a list of foods that dogs can't have. |
