Getting a second pup??
 

to anyone who had the best pup in the world and then got a second one... how was he or she different from the first? I just have Tobey now and I really couldn't wish for a better dog. he listens really well, is SUPER cuddly and lovey, was pretty quick to potty train, doesn't ruin my stuff, isn't ever annoying, he's all I ever wanted! I think about getting him a sister but I am worried I may have just gotten lucky with him and the next one could be a nightmare! am i just paranoid, or has this happened to anyone else?

With me it was the other way around, Spencer was a difficult puppy, my first and I was totally inexperienced...Now Winston was a dream to train, my second and I had a lot more experience. I expected the worse...and got the best!!!

They're all different but you love them just the same. They're a ball to watch playing together as well.

I am the same way. Dudley is just perfect and I think if we get another one, he/she might not be like him.

I have the monster from hell!!! It's a good thing I think he is cute or he would be doing a lot of time outs. I think I could get another one and it could not be like my Conner. When he is sleeping, he still looks like a terror on wheels!!

I think it is easier for someone like me to get another one than for someone who has a perfect yorkie.

They are all different. I have five, yes five. LOL. They are each unique. Newman is my old man. He was easy to potty train and for the ten years we've had him he's never given us a problem. Bella is four and she was a little tougher to train, and she's alpha and moody at times. We nicked named her Bitchy Bella (In a loving way). Noel is three and she is timid, dopey and has the heart of gold but still has mistakes in the house. She's our 17 pound wanna be Yorkie. Tia is my small baby. She's a little over a year. Perfectly potty trained. Most well behaved and calm very calm. She's probably the best dog I've ever had in my whole life as far as training and personality go. She's a little over a year and weighs in at just 5 pounds. Jersey is our new baby. She's a little over three months and we don't have the scoop on her just yet. One thing for sure is that Newman was alone for over six years and I'm sorry that we did not get him a sister or brother before that. He loves having company. AND, they all get along GREAT. Also, you'll have the joy of watching them bond and play together. It's precious to see. Elaine

Getting a second one is a great idea. My first one was a little terror and my second one is a sweetie. I love them both and they are so different. They love each other and would be so bored if they were not together

My first Yorkie, Jazzie, was a dream from the get-go. Easy to train & laid back. When we got Jewel - Holly Molly! Completely different! We fell just as much in love with her because of the difference!

After Jewel passed away, we got Jolie and Jen (twins) and once again completely different personalities from Jazzie & each other. Just like people you love them for their differences and what a joy it is to watch them play, and love one another!

Dan and Corrine. I LOVE your Yorkies. I'm learning new things all the time on YT and have noticed that the coloring on some (Like yours) is different then others. What would your Yorkie's coloring be called? I'm not sure if I'm wording that right. LOL. I just notice the coloring on their faces is so much different then on my black and tan yorkie. I hadn't realized that there were so many different colorations of the Yorkie until I came here on YT. Red Vette I think her girls have similiar coloring too. Her girls are beautiful as well. Thanks. So then if I would start looking to get a brother or sister for Tobey, what would i look for in a puppy to see what type of personality they might have? When we got tobey we were clueless. I just decided i wanted on, we looked online and researched about scams and puppymills and things to look out for in breeders. I callled an ad in the paper and they lived close to us so we drove about 35 minutes to their house. I had decided that if i didn't get a good feeling from meeting this lady, then we would just leave. She just has wrist surgery so she said she usually sells them for more but it is hard for her to clean out their playpen, so she's selling them for $500. only one male yorkie left. grandchildren are over at the house and they lift the little man out and hand him to me and I am in LOVE!!!! The owners own 4 dogs: 2 female yorkies, 1male yorkie, and one female maltese. So they also had a litter of "morkies" avaiable but I already had my mind made up. She gave us all there paperwork ACA registry and all that, and shot records, told us about hyperglycemia and what to watch for, and gave us food and a blanket. We paid them and went on our way.

so right after we left i felt a little weird about the whole process of me giving her $500 cash and her giving me adog. but he's turned out soooooo wonderful. now i am totally addicted to this breed and will never own anything else. i want another one, but i don't want tobey to start ignoring me more to play with his buddy because right now me and him are buddies. Should i call the lady we got Tobey from since the experience was good? don't think she is "breeder" like as a profession, but they just have maybe one yorkie litter and one morkie litter a year. Tobey is in excellent health. I just know we couldn't afford to pay more than we did. even if i could save up $1000, my husband wouldn't let us spend all of it on a new puppy even though he loves tobey to death. now i am just rambling...

Jake is my first yorkie, and he's really good too. He never chews on anything in the house except his stuff. He listens good, was easy to potty train, is really smart and is just really a sweet little guy. We're getting a second one (girl), and it's hard to tell what she will be like lol
