Lovesick One of the big lLabs a few houses down is in heat again. Gizmo stays in my face all day and a lot during the night whimpering and making a trail back and forth to the door. It's driving me nuts. The last three days he will barely eat but drinking plenty of water. When we go on the leash to winkle he sits there staring in the direction of their house whining. Is he lovesick? Could this actually make him lose his appetite? How long do these heats last? When will I have my boy back? Is it because he's not fixed? I am so sleepy. |
I think Im in Love :D Yes he is love sick...they can smell girls long ways away. Normal to stop eating, and he will probably make every effort to get down there so watch him close! And yes, if he were fixed he loses interest (or should) :) My Rotties heat lasted 9 days. |
This is crazy. I was starting to think maybe he was getting sick by not eating. His gums are fine and he is drinking plenty of water. Those feelings have got to be pretty strong to curb HIS appetite. He did shoot past me the other morning, couldn't find him and showed up 4 hours later. Filthy and stinky. I was worried sick, he had to have been trying to dig under their fence. Now that I know whats up he has to stay on his leash even in the front yard..we don't have a fence. I swear he's gonna work himself into a frenzie. Thanks for commenting on the eating part, was starting to worry. |
lover boy Id say offer treats or homecooked yummy stuff, he could go all week not eating. and yes he will try to chew thru walls to get to the girlie....it is a crazy thing! He is totally normal tho so dont stress to much. |
Poor little Giz:p It's like smelling brownies baking all the time and never having one:D |
