Full story: http://www.itchmo.com/read/texas-lab...-food_20070605 ExperTox, a Texas lab, found acetaminophen (a fifth possible contaminant) in at least five samples of pet food that were submitted by pet owners and pet manufacturers. The medication was mostly found with cyanuric acid, and hundreds of other samples that were sent in tested positive for melamine. The contaminants were found in pet foods that have not been recalled. ExperTox said that the highest level of acetaminophen was found in a dog food sample submitted by a pet food manufacturer, but the lab is not identifying the company. The FDA is now investigating the findings from the lab and a FDA spokesperson says that: “what’s significant is these things are there. They don’ t belong there.” This and the latest related news at: www.itchmo.com |
I am so pleased you posted this. I just read this alert from them this morning and was absolutely horrified, because it does not stipulate the Brand: "Full story: http://www.itchmo.com/read/texas-lab...-food_20070605 ExperTox, a Texas lab, found acetaminophen (a fifth possible contaminant) in at least five samples of pet food that were submitted by pet owners and pet manufacturers. My babies are on Evangers ALS and Canine K/D. I just hope they are not on this new list!!! |
I still believe the bad food is what caused Mickey and Minnie to get sick, It may not of caused Mickeys Crystals/stones. But I do believe its what made both of my Yorkies sick. Back in March and April. I still keep the bag and food in the freezer, and have reported it, even though they say their food was not on the recall list. I still believe they got sick from that food. |
Maxwell is on Innova puppy food; but I had a 12 year old Yorkie (Brutus) die Feb 15, 07, he was on low protein wet food that I bought at the vet's; when I asked the vet if it was on the list they said no. I can't bear to think about it. I threw the food away at home. When I called back to get the name of the food, they said his records were up in the attic. I changed vets. |
Am I missing this or is nobody being specific! So what brands are affected? No websites are being specific enough. Or am I just blind and not seeing it.:D I have been known to miss things lol |

How on earth can they NOT release the names of the pet foods containing these contaminants!!!! We need to know what we are feeding our babies!!!!! |
thanx for posting this, I am going to check it out ... seems nothing is safe anymore |
This is a nightmare. |
This is why Ellie is getting homecooked. We were going to do it until the recalls passed but she does better on it so we will do it from now on. Even with quality foods there is really no way of knowing what is in it because you aren't there watching. It is all so frustrating. |
Ive been cooking for Lillybelle too, several months now. I cook a week's worth at a time. Got the recipes online. Doesnt take long to cook a batch of food at all. I get lean ground turkey, tsp chopped garlic, tablespoon olive oil, small can carrots, small can spinach, small can green peas. I thoroughly rinse the vegetables to get the salt off, then chop them small and add after I cook the ground turkey.I also cook up 1/4 cup brown rice and add. She loves it. I do leave out dry food for her. She had been eating some of the recalled food, I had her tested, luckily she was okay. |
They need to quit playing games with our dogs lives and post all the information.:animal-pa |
Why do they even bother to put info out and not tell us what product/products they are referring too. It sucks and how can they get away with that? I just don't get it. |
