I was wondering... I have been looking through alot of the old post and pictures of some yorkies and have a question...do any of you guys ever feel like you may not have gotten what you paid for as far as getting a full breed yorkie? when I got Max i went to see so many puppies and they looked so different i even questioned if they were not silky mixed with yorkie. just wondering |
I was sure that what I got was total Yorkie in both cases. Sometimes they'll look a little different. Post a pic of your baby. In any case, I'm sure yours is adorable! |
When we got Piper I knew she was a Morkie. Later I questioned it, because of her snout. She could be a silky & maltese. She wasn't supposed to be over 5 lbs also. She now weights 9.5 lbs. I guess there are no guarantees on weight. I now believe on checking on the breeder before buying. recommendations are a plus. We love her, she's our moose. |
4 Attachment(s) oh no, i know that he is full yorkie I was just wondering if anyone felt like they were lied to. my friend also got a puppy and the vet feels that he is part silky if not all because of his longer snout and bigger size hes 13 pound. and i have seen a few that look just like her little boy on this site so i was just curious but heres Max pics hes 6 months old |
hi, i know my babys are all yorkies, but my sis bought her guy shortly after me and he is deff not what we expexted, he is almost 15 pds does look more morkie then yorkie but like everyones says it reall doest matter now because we love him, but she had alot of problems with the breeder, had to threaten court in order for her to get some money back, so i beleive the breeder new all along that she was not getting what she paid for:mad: she gave her back 1/2 her money. |
Looks like a yorkie baby to me |
I had a similar problem with a pomeranian but not with my yorkie. I got an AKC registered pom, as a puppy she was fluffy and gorgeous but as she got older her coat got really thin. I took her to the vet thinking she might have a skin problem but the vet said she was healthy. Then I found out the lady also bred long hair chihuahuas. I then realized that I got a pom/chihuahua mix. It all explained so much the thin coat and long snout!! |
2 Attachment(s) My yorkie is 9 pounds, I think the breeder told me he would probably be around 6. Doesn't matter to me. I was told that Oliver, my shih-poo was going to be around 8 pounds, He's probably closer to 14. Doesn't matter to me. I would guess it's pretty difficult for a breeder to determine the weight. The estimates they are giving you are just that - good guesses- based on the parents. Your baby is ADORABLE!!!! 1st pic is Oliver - Needs a face trim, you can't really see his eyes!! 2nd pic is Otis - took him to work with me the other day to watch for liver symptoms.. |
Thank you :-) your baby is adorable too! But wait...ALL yorkies are adorable!!!:D |

but your baby looks very yorkie and is real cute. |
There isn't a doubt in my mind that both my boys are purebred yorkies. Sure they are bigger than the standard, but purebred yorkies just the same. :) |
