Coloring Question 4 Attachment(s) I've been wondering lately about Wobie's coloring. He seems darker than other yorkies of his age that I've seen. I know he's still too young to tell for sure (he's 12 1/2 weeks), but I'm still curious about how his coat color will turn out. Does anyone have any ideas about whether he'll stay darker or lighten up a lot? |
2 Attachment(s) Heres a picture of his dad (1) and mom (2). If that helps at all. |
I do not have a clue, but he is a beautiful color now ... wait and see ... they say their color can change up to one year! but he is beautiful, just want to kiss that little head! |
4 Attachment(s) Here are pictures of Jewel at 15 weeks and later full grown. Her coat stayed black on her back, as did Jazzie and it looks like Jolie & Jen are going to stay black too (the twins are 9 months now and black as coal). |
Wobie sure is a cutie! and his daddy looks like a baby! I thougt you posted a picute of Wobie again! Wobie might just stay dark. |

4 Attachment(s) Gizmo is also dark. The breeder told me that she may regret giving him up because his father was dark (like Gizmo)and he turned a deep, pretty steel blue. That may have been hype from the breeder, but I thought it was interesting. She kept the other male from Gizzy's litter for showing (I think). I have no intention of showing him (at least in conformation), and I have limited registration and a neutering agreement, but she wants to see him again before the procedure. I guess she wants to see how his coloring comes out. He was MUCH darker as a puppy and he lightens up each week, but he's still darker than most Yorkie puppies I've seen. Here are some photos of him at different ages. The first is at 6 weeks, the second at around 9 weeks, the third at 11 weeks and the last one was at 5 weeks. It will be interesting to see how his color comes out. No matter what, I love him! We have beautiful, healthy babies and that's what's important! :D |

:confuse2:Erm..... what was the original question again??? These babies are all so friggin' cute, I did plumb forgit.....LOL:lol tears Sorry. I am no help whatsoever in the face of such adorability.....:( |
I feel the same way also... The pictures I see of other yorkies look so much lighter than my bailey... Shes 7 mo. and still is very dark (black and gold) Her parents were both VERY silver but the breeder said she didnt expect the litter that bailey came from to be silver.... Either way, I have been wondering the same thing. I have been told that it can take up to 2 years for the coat to become like an adults... So i guess we both have a lot of waiting... =) |
My baby is black & tan with a small hint of the dark steel color on his head only! I have had him recently shaved and his coat even close to the skin is still black! All his liter mates have started to turn color all over their bodies, except for him, plus they all started turning color at about 4 months old. His daddy is black and tan, I am hoping he stays the same color! |
