Talked my hubby into a 2nd yorkie!
 
Jake is 11 mos. old now, and I really want to get a little girl playmate for him. My husband thinks Jake will have a hard time adjusting since he's such a mommy's boy, but I think he'll be okay as long as I make sure I pay lots and lots of attention to him. I've decided to wait until Jake's breeder's next litter because she has been wonderful, and we have become friends. We've had such good luck with Jake as far as being such a healthy, happy, intelligent little guy so want to stick with the same breeder. Of course, I know I could get a pup the total opposite, but that's okay! What's life without a little variety?:D

Congrats on getting the ok from hubby to add a second one!!!
Jake will love having another one to play with. He will probably be jealous at the beginning but he will adjust quickly and will love having a second one around.

Who was your breeder if you don't mind me asking?

Again, Congrats, you must be so excited!!

What did you mean, to get one that is a total opposite? I am new to this, and am thinking of getting a playmate for Emmy. She is a spitfire, so does this mean I just look for a calm puppy?:confused:

congrats. i have three and they got along fine when each came into our home. i kept a good eye on them and never let them out of my site when they came home to me

Just like a fur-free baby, she realizes there are NO guarantees on temperament and she could get a baby that is a complete 180 from Jake.

Oh Selina that is AWESOME news! I am so glad that your hubby agreed to let you get another baby! Jake will have SO MUCH FUN having a playmate...and you will have such a blast spoiling another little baby :D Also, girls are a ton of fun, let me tell you! ;) You will probably go a little crazy with buying her stuff after you get her and after having a boy for so long because you can find SO many more cute things for girls than you can for boys! :p

Oh I am just so happy for you Selina!! :D You will absolutely love having a second baby! :thumbup:

Yay! How exciting!!! We're bringing home our new puppy in a little under 2 weeks! So I know how exciting just making the decision is. :D

Congratulations, i'm so jealous! I'm working on my hubby for a second one too! Of course Vinnie is just now 7 months, so it may be too soon for us!

OH! More love in the house for you!!! YEY! You know, I got my first 2 from the same breeder and they are somewhat related down the line...however they are COMPLETELY opposite and also look nothing alike!! I'm so very happy with my dogs and my breeder! But then....I decided my 3rd yorkie should come from another breeder....a little different, etc...WHY??? I have no idea!!! I'm not completely unhappy at my decision, but I have had some problems and the breeder isn't the greatest communicator...so I have sat here and asked myself why I went outside my original breeder when I was so happy with her in the first place :rolleyes: Lesson learned....

congrats on the new addition. i was trying to talk my boyfriend into getting a second so my little boy can have a friend and i guess it must wait. but have fun im sure he will.

I have Bella born June 9th 2005, and Diggy born March 6th 2007, same mom and dad. They are a lot alike....The ways they are different I chalk up to a boy/girl thing....she walks around puddles....he skips through it, she goes one step at a time he jumps all 4 at once, she eats food one piece at a time, he eats 5 at once. She sleeps in a perfect lil ball on her lil pink bed....he falls alsleep sitting up falls over and stays right there feet up. Mostly boy/girl differences. Same general temperment and same dominant habits (digging, hiking leg, protective, always ready to play/snuggle) I like them being a little different, I agree variety is good.

your so lucky! im trying to convince my family to let me get a yorkie and yesterday they were leaning toward yes then my mom flipped out at me today and was like your wasting time looking at puppies you'll never get.. =[ and she wonders why i barely talk to her anymore an im always mad at her

Jake can be a spitfire too, but he listens really well and was sooooo easy to potty train. He's very well behaved, never chews on anything he's not supposed to.....just a very good little guy. He's very energetic and plays ALL the time, and he's just a pleasure to be around. But, I know alot of people on here who have more than one dog have total opposites. All dogs have their own personality.

I live in North Royalton, which is about 25 miles from downtown Cleveland, and about the same distance from Akron.
