13 week old female humping?!?!? Today, I watched my 13 week old female playing with her favourite squeaky toy (a stuffed lamb). She then proceeded to mount the lamb and started humping away! Is this normal? I mean, she is just a baby! I thought that dogs started humping around 5 months... Can anyone relate to this thread??? It was kinda funny and all, but am I supposed to coreect her when she does this or let her be? She didn't do this out in the open, but she took the stuffed lamb into her crate and did the deed... |
My thoughts EXACTLY! But Koda is a 13 week humping MALE. We have this odd looking chicken doorstop thing he will hump all day, lol! i thought it was a bit to young also? I am interested on reading what everyone has to say about all this darn HUMPING! lol! Also do you try and stop it? (after your done laughing at it, lol!) |
Lol, I'm laughing at your situation, but I realize that I might be dealing with it soon. Hopefully someone has some advice for you... |

I think it's more of a dominance thing when they're that young and humping toys. Jake occasionally humps a stuffed toy, but I just ignore it or try to get him distracted with something else. I don't make a big deal of it because he has never tried to hump one of us or anybody that visits. He has never marked or anything like that either. So, I consider myself lucky.:D |
yep, all of mine were humping at a very young age. male and female |

Its a dominance issue. I asked this same question a few months ago because Keely decided to grip onto my arm and hump it. It made me laugh, but I corrected her and she doesn't do it anymore. I thought she was too young too, but when I asked the vet and other YT members they said it was dominance. She has never humped any of her toys either. But my aunts silky terrier she goes to town on her winne the pooh bear and she is 9 years old, and your not allowed to touch her bear either. LOL |
yep yep she is the wanting to be the boss! My girl doesnt hump, she hikes her leg and bucks her back legs after going potty. All behaviors of dominance. My 13 week old boy humps everything already and is hiking his leg in the house already....outside he squats like a girl...So here is what I have....a girl hiking her leg and bucking, a boy squating, hiking and humping everything.... Im curious to see who the boss ends up being :D Your lil girl is fine, normal, and a powerful woman!! YOU GO GIRL!!! lol:aimeeyork |
I would tell her no when she does it so she gets out of the habit of doing it. Thats what I did with My Chachi and he eventually stopped |
 Phew! Okay...So this is normal! Lololol!!! It's really cute to see her hump away on a stuffed toy. I was about to stop her but my boyfriend said that it was normal. I guess some are just early bloomers! |
LOL My little man started at 10 weeks and I couldn't believe it. |
Armani does the same thing!! He even humped the hide a squirrel toy :( which I was hoping would be more of an education experience. I just told him no firmly and took it away :) lol I gave it back a few days later and he played with it, not humped. |
