Thanks Corinne, I know. That's just it. At 1 yr old when she was diagnosed, we wouldn't think of "giving her back" even if that offer were true! The first year is when she had the best part of her life! She really got to play and be a puppy! Those are the best memories we have with her.... It's sad....hugs to you too  Quote:

Trina, Again, I am so sorry for your loss of Lexxi. She was very loved, and she's no longer suffering. She loves you and is watching over you now. I have to say that you have every right to be upset with the breeder...She brought Lexxi into this world, and she didn't even take responsibility for it. In my opinion, the option should not be "give the dog back and I'll give you a new one"....That's just wrong, imo...You fall in love with a puppy almost immediately, you cannot be expected to give it back...What does that solve anyway? I don't think I would want another pup from her if this is the way she acts and doesn't take responsibility for her breedings...At the very least, she could have been sympathetic though...Just a hey, I'm sorry..or something. Don't worry about this lady anymore...Her attitude is bringing you down, and that's just not fair. |
Awwwwww hun...1st of all i would like to say i'm s0o0o0o sowie for your loss poor Miss Lexxi she didn't deserve to live like that....and for the breeder that makes me very upset....me being a breeder as well..i alwayz stand by my babies...no matter how long you have had them for....all they had to do to have avoid this situation was to do all the health screening on both the parents before they even breed them....that's sad that they didn't even stop to say that they were even sorry for your loss or even try to make it right w/ you !! i can't believe that they didn't even stop breeding the parents or even do the health screen before they continue to breed the parents...*shaking my head* this whole situation just saddens me...it makes us other breeders look bad & ppl wonder why they don't trust ANY BREEDER @ ALL !! |
It's really sad, but unfortunately, like everything else in life, there are good breeders and bad ones. :( Hopefully, you will have some peace in knowing that you stood by your baby 'til the end, even if the "breeder" didn't. |

I just wanted to tell you how very sorry I am to hear about your loss. I have only had my first Yorkie for a little over two weeks and I already know that I would grieve his passing like a family member if anything should happen to you. I think Lexxi was blessed to be in your life for even a short time. You were her angel. I can't even imagine what you had to go through with her illness and passing. Sending little tongue licks from Gizmo as well.[/FONT] |
It sounds like that breeder was just in it for the $$ |

Yea it sure does....and that to me is very pathetic to me !! |

She should have atleast offered her condolences for what you went thru, Geez how unkind can ppl be. I know us YT'ers have offered that to you and your family. Trina i'm so sorry for all that you went thru and hope the pain lessens with each passing day!! |
Thanks Deb ~ you're always checkin on me  I too want it all to be easier...and it is with each day, but then I have those moments, ya know? It's only been just over a week though, I still have to get Lexxi back home with us to really have closure. People are unkind....that is why YT amazes me at how this community has come together with so many wonderful, caring people - you are truely my "other" family ;) Quote:

How terribly sad that Lexxi had to leave so young, but bless you for taking such good care of her. I'm so sorry for your loss. That breeder will get hers - don't worry about it. Just try to go through your grieving process as peacefully as possible and enjoy your new puppy. |

You are so right! A simple "I'm sorry" was all I needed to hear. And you know what else? You are also right about her bringing me down! I feel bad about that! I feel sad, but I also feel like she made me into this angry person that wanted to get even-somehow! Even though I did get a terminally ill dog from her, I never shared her name or bad mouthed her....till now - all over her heartlessness... |
you have every right to be upset with this breeder, a simple im sorry goes a long way when you are hurting inside. im sorry for your loss, sweet lexxi R I P dont let her get you down, you are a wonderful mommy to your babys, she is not worth it,people like her that have no compasion are just out to make money, how :( :( :( . |
Trina, How sweet you are to ask about Otis, He flunked his post bile acid level at 53. Doesn't appear to be high enough for shunt, but possibly MVD/HMD. Right now I'm trying to decide what further testing he should have and start saving up for it. He's started L/D food, and I'd like to start him on lactulose asap, but the vet initially said she didn't think it was necessary. But overall, he's doing pretty well. No severe seizures, he just kind of spaces out sometimes. Thanks again for asking about him. I hope your finding some comfort in knowing you were a good mommy to Lexxi and did everything you could for her. |
I am so very sorry that you have suffered this tragedy. The pain of losing a beloved furkid that way is unbearable. In time the pain will dull a bit and you will remember Lexxi with smiles. As far as the breeder goes, I cannot imagine anyone being as heartless and as $$ hungry as she seems to be. Apparently she counts her precious little gifts as dollar signs and not as living beings to be cherished and loved. |

I am so very very sorry about U're loss! God be with U and U're family!!! Truely I couldn't even imagian what U're going through, I couldn't beleive her coldness. I feel she was out for the money, she should of called U and sent U a card. I'm so sorry U're going through all this. God bless U and U're family! Hugs, Lee and Babies |
I just checked out her website and she seems like a pretty nice lady with really pretty dogs. All her wordings about her babies seems as if she really loves her babies and really passionate about breeding these babies. Maybe looks are deceiving! Makes me want to shove poop down her throat! (But of course, I wouldn't do that) |
wow i am so sorry i know words can repair or replace the pain you are feeling this breeder has no heart shame on her she really does not love the dog just the money i thought your email was very heart felt god bless you and your family |
when i go visit my brother in tx ill do the poo thing be glad to |

Will the breeder help you with any of this? Funny question to be asking in the thread that I started about my breeder being MIA  But Otis is just a puppy isn't he?? Seizures are so scary! I would always yell for my husband to come and "make it better" cause it hurt too much for me to watch :( Is he on meds yet? |
So Sorry For Your Loss! Quote:
