Almost had a heart attack! Yesterday I took Bonnie to the back yard to have do her thing. She walked over the pool area and sat down to watch the world go by. No biggie. I was sitting on the patio facing away from her. I went into my own little world for a bit, then remembered Bonnie. I turned around, and she was gone. I called her name....nothing. I called again....still nothing! I looked between the skirt and steps of the house where she likes to hide, she wasn't there. I walked to the other side of the yard/house,not there!!!! I then ran to the fence gate that separates the front from the back (Bonnie can fit between the picket fence rails) ,I see Holly my Pom-Poo,but no Bonnie!!! I go back to the back yard calling her name, then I remembered that the easement fence has a gap in it! Could she have gone back there!? Looked, and call her name. All I see are shrubs, berry patches, and weeds, no BONNIE! I turn around from there, and Holly has now joined the hunt.............and so has Bonnie. BONNIE!? Wha' da' pheee!?!?!? Where the #*@&$%@^& did you go,@*$^#^$#, giving me a heart attack! Now I have to go inside, calm down, take deep slow breaths, and pop an aspirin just in case!!! @*$^@:aimeeyork dog is going to be the death of me,that's if I don't killer FIRST! LOL I looked between the skirt and steps of the house, but never looked at the TOP OF THE STAIRS!!!! D'OH! "S" V^^^^V |
I would've had a heart attack too! So glad you found her safe and sound! |
I have been there before...looking and looking and looking... and they are standing off somewhere watching you make a fool of yourself. ha ha ha ...those little rascals! Seriously though, I'm so relieved that you found her safe and sound! |
Thank goodness she was right there:) I've done that before, start hunting for one and then realize there are two of them following me around wondering what the heck I'm looking for - LOL!! |
Sometimes they go where we should expect them to be(ready to go inside after a good potty), but for some reason we think they won't be that well behaved and they suprise us. What a good furbaby you have!!! I've done it tons of times myself, but I would rather be overprotective then lose one of my babies. |
Lol, how funny!! She wanted to play hide-n-seek. ;) |

I am constantly freaking out about where Gigi is. I have gotten so bad that I am starting to drive around the back just to make sure she hasnt snuck out of the house behind me. She has never done it but I dont want to lose her!!! I am constantly wishing she would be like everyone elses yorkies and be right underfoot!!! Not my GiGi, she needs her down time too!!! I keep telling myself... BELL get a bell for her!! Looks like I am going to get on ebay now |
I know how you felt. Last night, my husband was talking to his brother on the phone; he went out to the patio, thru the back door. I couldn't find Maxwell anywhere. I got the flashlight and was running all over the front and back yards, getting sicker and sicker. My husband said he never saw him, but he was distracted, so I couldn't be sure. I turned around and looked back at the house, and there was Maxwell's little face in the bottom window of the door -- wondering why his people were running around in the dark like maniacs. Silly people. |
I know exactly how you feel. Zoe is only 17 wks now and only with us for the last 4 wks and I can't tell you how many mini heart attacks she's given me. I hope this gets easier! :) |
I know how you feel! I think Buttercup or my son Tyler would be the cause of my death one day. Buttercup has his own little thing to let me know 'hey I need to go NOW' but one day I was so so busy with studying for finals my son took him out (now 4 years old). Long story short, he said he left Buttercup outside and when I went out, he was not there. I searched but didn't find him. He ended up being inside the house, upstairs in his crate that somehow closed on it's own and he couldn't get out. |
I know the feeling and I sure am glad Bonnie is alright! Adie walked through a gap in the fence right next to me! I saw her out of the corner of my eye and there she is on the other side of the fence. I had to race through the house before she reached the street. I don't think I breathed before I got her in my arms. |
This happens all the time in the HOUSE! I will be looking for Sophie everywhere, in all of her favorite spots, and then I turn around and she is staring at me like she thinks I am crazy.:D |
they are fat lil buggars.. I took all of mine out one morning, and as fast as I could turn around, Elle was gone. I called her name so many times, thinking she was behind this bush we have. Nope she wasn't there, then all of a sudden I heard her bark, and it was coming from far away. I literally FREAKED OUT!!!!!! I ran the hardest I could to find her, as I kept calling her name I heard her bark. She was 3 houses over in someone's chain link fence. How she got in there is beyond me. Well the worse part about it was, that the yard she was in belong to some big dog. ( who scares me anyway) Thank heavens the dog wasn't out in the yard at that time, or it might have been a different outcome. I opened the gate and went in and got her. I had a long talk with her that day. Told her about all the scary things that could have gotten her if she isn't with her mommy. She hasn't gotten out of the yard since. I guess there is a lil opening in our fence that she jumped through to get out. We have since fixed it. These lil babies don't realize how much they worry us constantly. |
