Are People Blind? I saw a post similar to this in another forum and it reminded me what I have been wanting to ask... Does anyone else ever have a problem with people mistaking the gender of your dog? Bailey is a GIRL she is always wearing bows, dresses (usually pink dresses) and a pink collar... But it seems like almost EVERYONE thinks she is a boy... She can be wearing a pink bow with a pink dress and her pink shoes on with a pink collar and leash and people say "ohh he is so cute" or people ask "is it a boy or a girl" and im just like HEEEELLLOOO SHES WEARING A PINK DRESS its soo annoiying... Why do people think Bailey is a boy? I dont think she looks like one... Am i wrong? |
I find people persum a dog is a boy no matter what and a cat is a girl.... dunno why... |
i get the complete opp/ people say my boys are girls even when there wearing a blue shirt that says stud !! i dont get it either |
Funny - bc everyone call my boys "she's"!! |
It's the same way if you have a baby. People see her all dressed in pink, and they can't tell if it's a boy or girl. |
wow!! I just left Petsmart with Nathan who has on a baseball jersey blue and red and two girls came up to me and ask is that a girl or boy.. I look at his jersey and then at him and say he's a boy!!! look at his shirt!!! and they were like OH yeah!!! hee hee hee.....people!!!! :) lol |
I get that too, and I think sometimes because my girl lift her leg when she pee, sometimes the two back legs:eek: is so funny to wath when she is wearing a dress, my hubby make fun of me all the time because I try so hard to make her look like a girly with the pink bow, pink dress, pink leash, pink waste bags you name it :p |

I have had someone ask if Jewels was a girl or a boy when had a dress on her. Go figure |
Actually the last time we went to Lowes Mitzi was wearing a dress and one lady said: "Now there you can see it's a girl!" It was the first time and I was baffled..... |
when my son was a baby he was once mistaken for a girl..he was a big baby and wearing BLUE dungarees...couldnt it have been more obvious??? some people just dont see whats right infront of them! lol |
I get that all the time. People in the neighborhood thought mine was a girl at first but even now that they know he's not a girl they still call him 'she' |
I usually get people assuming Wobie is a girl... |
I've never yet had anyone refer to our little girl Yorkie as "she". It's always "he" no matter what I do. Oh well. Maybe it's the name. Everyone asks what's it's name first. It's Pookie, so it's probably too unisex and they they say "he". My husband is happy with that, because he doesn't want to appear in public with a "girlie" dog. |
People almost call my girl Daisy (the Yorkie) a boy, and my boy Teddy Bear (the blonde) a girl. I don't ususally dress them up when I take them out but Daisy is really bold and runs up to everyone and Teddy is very shy and scared. I used to use a red harness and leash for Daisy and Blue for Teddy and everyone was confused. Now I have a pink harness and leash for Daisy and Blue for Teddy. I notice people are now calling Daisy a girl and Teddy a boy. |
