What a day! So happy that Papi is home with his little one at last! Elaine, you have been so amazing through all of this. Like everyone said...opening your home for this gathering of friends, keeping in touch with us all throughout the excitement...you've had a couple of busy days! Hopefully you can take tomorrow and just relax a bit. Is Lori going to need any more $$ for the trip home? If she needs anything, let me know and I'll do what I can to help out. I'm so looking forward to your pictures! :) |
What a group of YT Angels ... Connie, I know you have been involved in this from (Step 1) with Dan and Corinne and Patti... Bless your hearts. then (step 2)- involved Lori, Sabrina and Elaine, then (step 3) the rest of you who took the time to drive PA and meet with Papi and his new baby. You all have first hand reports for us. Then (step 4 .. almost last but not least) all the good hearted people who gave contributions to make this dream come true. And (step 5 ... as important as all the above) all of you who sent good thoughts and prayers for our heavenly travellers. I am 2:45 minutes from home to Reading, PA, and 147 miles ... however with traffic - and just getting off Long Island adds an hour to the trip unless we leave at 2 AM ... and unfortunately, this weekend is sad for me. My husband passed away 5 years ago on June 2-3 ... right about midnight. His ashes were spread at sea.... the eastern end of Long Island, Montauk Point, a few days later... Thatz a 1 hour & 55 minutes trip to go 87 miles. I feel I must take that trip Sunday. But I am happy something good happened this weekend as well that I shall never forget .. (The happiness I mean) . Did this post make sense??? Forgive me if it does not. Quote:

Oh my.... That's a lot of video's and pictures!!! Elaine - Thank you from the bottom of my heart for staying up so late and up loading all this - Bless you! The video of Papi first saying hi to Patticake was just amazing I started to cry then I had to laugh ... "Lori?"! I hope Patticake warms up to Papi really fast. I know she was over stimulated with all the excitement today and didn't want to sit still for too long. All the photo's and video's are fantastic! I feel as if I was there with you guys. Thank you again for everything! - I'm going back to watch the videos again! Corinne |
This is all too much! So wonderful too see! :D :D :D |
aww i am soo glad everything turned out so good.. |
Wow! I haven't looked at all the pix and other goodies yet ... just at the first of Papi with Patti and then followed through to see we now have some of his BLOOD family with us :) on YT and that now he and Patti are safely home! What a saga this has been! I couldn't go to bed without checkin' this thread. Now I can go to sleep and dream about the lovely activities I know happened today. (I was thinking about the scene unfolding in PA while I was out and about today.) Again, kudos to the folks who got this started (Patti and JAck, Corinne and Dan and Connie) and those who helped with all the logistics (Lori and Elaine) and, of course, to all those who ponied up $ either for a puppy, for expenses ... or both AND offered their solidarity through prayers and positive vibes. If someone had told me this site existed and tried to tell me this story just a few months ago, I would probably have listened with a skeptical ear. Thanks to everyone for giving this jaded girl a lot more faith in the world and in the people in it.:D |
Words cannot express how I'm feeling as I look at the pics of Papi, Bre, Lori, Elaine and Pattycake. I am thankful that all went well on the trip and am praying for Lori and Bre to make it back to NE problem free. Papi--------Send pics when you can. I'm so happy to be a part of this amazing story. AND........I AM writing a story about this adventure. It will be on my website which will be up and running around the end of August. It is a children's learning website where I teach reading and math. Again.......I feel fortunate to be a part of this. And............I've showed Deucy the pics and he is SOOOOO proud of his little girl. |
that a BIG Adventure this was and I hope little Patticake had a great first night with her new daddy - Papi - LOVED all the photos of you and her meeting and to the ladies...again - WAY TO GO !! This was just an awesome thing...Please drive safe and have a wonderful trip back home |

I knew some were waiting patently to see, and its quieter when my kids are in bed and doesnt take quite as long when I can think what I'm doing better lol plus i was still wide awake :) I'm sure she will, she started while she was on his lap :) at first she wanted to get down, if lori went in the house she would bark, or if bre walked away she would bark. now that lori and bre are out of sight, I'm sure she will soon be attatched to papi as she was with them :) |
Elaine.... You are an absolute doll! What a chore taking and loading all the videos and pictures. :) I loved each and every one of them, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a giving human being. I know we all wish we could have been there, you made that wish come true......in a very real sense. Hugs, Janell |
