Hi! and Welcome! I'm fairly new here too...only I can't figure out how to get Mugzy's picture up:confused: :D . I'm sorry to hear about your other baby, and you don't have to respond if it brings back too many painful memories, but what were the circumstances of your baby getting killed at the groomers? |
Hi Robbin, Its ok to talk about it now. I took my other baby in to be groomed (miniature schnauzer). The manager of the grooming place always groomed him and he did great. However, the owner was there that day. We were having central air put in the house and it was the perfect solution to keep him from being upset - so we thought. About 4 hours later, I get a call from the owner telling me "You can pick up your dog's body at the local vet - He's dead". After yelling, screaming, etc, I got out of him that the dog fell off the grooming table twice and the table fell on him killing him the last time. My vet met me at his office (it was closed at that time) and referred me to the agricultural center for an autopsy. No trauma found at all. Second opinion obtained from Raleigh, NC, vet. Death inconclusive. Not good enuf for my vet. He found a lab in pennsylvania to send the remains for drug screening. No drugs found. Reported to local authorities. They "looked into it - but nothing found". I hit roadblock after roadblock. I have suspicions that someone was maybe "paid off". The grooming community in my area has heard about it. I have received so much support from the other groomers in my area. A couple have taken me under their wing and showed me how to groom my Tullie. Another groomer clipped her nails and showed me how to while I watched her and even offered to come to my home in the future to help. I now know how to clip nails. I also wrote to one of the major network tv stations after they aired the special on dogs that were killed, maimed or hurt at the groomers. No response. Basically, my support has been the local groomers to help me learn and my vet and my family. My vet has been sooooooo special to me. He worked Tullie in the first day I had her for a well baby checkup. The girls in his office are absolutely priceless. Anyways, I miss my Tanner greatly, but I have my Tullie now. Thanks for asking. |
Picture of your Tullie is gorgeous!!! And yes she must be a blessing from above, so sorry to hear of the tragic loss of your other baby...How could that happen...my goodness...how sad. |
Welcome to YT! It's a great place to be! (and beware...it's highly addictive!) |
I am finding that this is absolutely toooooo addictive. I have had so much fun knowing that there are as many people out there who are in love with Yorkies as my family is. We are debating on getting Tullie a baby sister. She loves the other yorkies in our play date and is always trying to mother the babies. On the other hand, she is sooo much a babe herself. Her best friends are cats. They sleep together and play together. Both my cats have all their claws and are indoor cats (never bother anything) and absolutely play with her like she is another cat. LOL Thanks for all the warm welcomes. |

You are cracking me up!! Angel came about because Sissy so loved her play dates and had a blast with my daughter's cat for the 6 weeks we had her here!!! This is a definitely a place full of Yorkie lovers (some would call us "nuts") and we are always here for each other. I was so sorry to read about the loss of your other baby. That is one reason my girls have never been to a groomers. So glad you have Tullie healing your heart!! |
Thanks LuvMySissy - I am glad to have Tullie for my heart. The other was tragic. However, all things happen for a reason. And, I guess, the reason it happened was for my Tullie. I got her from a Show-Person in Texas. We know the lady here in NC that has her cousin. The lady I got her from doesn't usually sell. However, Tullie was too small to breed and too small to show. Therefore, I GOT HER.....YEAH!!!!! I want another. My husband is a big man and has his little convertible sports car. it is sooooo funny to see him drive up in his macho sports car with his little bitty (5 lbs) baby in his arms....LOL. He goes nowhere without her if he can help it. When I first got her, where I work we had a different CEO and he allowed me to bring her to work with me every day. I still have her playpen at work just in case I need to bring her in. Thanks for making me feel welcome. :yorkiesar tullie :littleang |
I am sooo sorry to hear about Tanner. How absolutely tragic. I cannot even imagine what you must have gone through. There is a forum here for people who have lost their babies, that you may want to visit. My condolences again. |
