Help-What is the best flooring surface for your home if you have one that continues to have accidents? I'm thinking ceramic tile but wanted some opinions from all of you. I've got wood parquet now & I'm not happy with it, don't want carpet or just painted concrete floors, so I'm running out of options.:( |
Ya'll aren't being very helpful on this one:rolleyes: |
I would think tiles are |
I am going to check out a type of tile...Earthscapes or Naturescapes. They have beautiful vinyl (I think it's vinyl) but it looks likes real tile or wood. Might be a little pricey, but it has a good warranty and might be worth looking into. I want to put it in my office so I can leave the X-Pen in there instead of the kitchen (Ceramic tile in the kitchen). It takes up too much of the room in the kitchen. You can check them out online. |
Ceramic Tile We have just starting replacing our carpeted floors with ceramic tiles. I think they are the way to go--if you are doing it yourself--the larger the better. Do one room at a time. |
Ozzie uses papers in the kitchen. A year ago, I put down a "woodlike" vinyl tile that I think I bought at Lowe's. It comes in plank size, rather than the standard 12x12 tiles and it does look rather nice. AND IT HAS HELD UP REMARKABLY in spite of water from the waterbowl getting splashed all over, the kitten playing with ice cubes on it and, of course, Ozzie's occasional trail from his papers. |
4 Attachment(s) We just tiled our whole house. I love it. No more accidents with Max. He does occasionally poo, but it's easy to wipe up. No more peeing only on the pads. I figure in a year, maybe I can put down some throw rugs. |
Have any of you ever had any of the ceramic tiles crack or break? Our underlying cement has some cracks in it & I'm wondering if the tile will break as well? Thanks for all your help. I love the look of the tile. |
my vet told me about Virgin Vinyl. They put it in the back part of the vet office and in their house and they say they love it. It looks like real wood and is thick. They say you can even refinish it if you want to. They said it is pricey but well worth it. That is probably the way I am going to go when I rip mine up or maybe the ceramic tiles if the vinyl is alot more. |
:lol tears How about painted concrete? :lol tears Seriously, I have hardwood floors in the upstairs and ceramic tile in the down stairs. Both work well for me. |
I can sympathize with you about the wood parquet...Mine is really old, and it soaks up the pee and leaves a stain! |
