Any recommendations for good shampoos? Ayone have any recommendations for good shampoos? I'd also like something readily available (Petsmart, Petco, etc.) so I don't have to buy from online and pay more for the shipping than the shampoo. |
Cranberry Feilds from Kathryn at BeyondSpoiled.com is a FANTASTIC product. |
I also like Minksheen. I haven't found anything at the local PetSmart that I thought was worth bringing home. |

You can also do baby shampoo.. |
Like I said, I'd prefer to avoid shipping costs. Thanks for the suggestion though. :) Anyone else have any suggestions? |
I use Bigroom Fluffy Puppy and works wonderful with Roscoe's hair...Even though it smells decent, not the best out there...hope this helps! |

I used it for the first time, and it is the best I have found. Sadie's hair has been super soft for a week now. I love it. Kate |

I have been thinking about baby or puppy shampoo myself. Thought maybe something gentle would help the Advantage work longer than past the first shampoo. Good luck in your search. :) |
Shampoos Minksheen sent me a free sample bottle--just went on their site and emailed them. It will probably last my little emmy for a few months. I love it! I used regular baby shampoo on her face--no more tears!:) |

I tried several shampoos from Petsmart, Walmart, and the local pet shop. Many were much more costly than the Cranberry Fields even after adding shipping. This is a wonderful smelling product that leaves their hair soft and manageable. The smell sort of fades to a "what is that nice smell" by the next day -- not overwhelming at all -- but definately better than natural doggy smell. I have had some products leave them stringy and greasy looking, some made them into little poof balls, some just plain smelled bad. But I really like the Cranberry Fields and the price is right too. I would definately give it a try -- the total with shipping may be less than what you would pay at the local pet shop. www.beyondspoiled.com ! |
Ok, i'm convinced and want to try crandberry fields but what scent is the best? Any advice? :) |

I haven't tried Cranberry Fields, but I'm a definitely lover of Minksheen - one product that does the trick nicely!!! Shipping isn't very much either and the bottle will last a LONG time!!! |
From Petsmart or Petco: earthbath (oatmeal and aloe shampoo), Tropiclean papaya plus (with papaya, coconut and vitamin e) smells wonderful, I have try Minksheen, cramberrie field, and they are ok too, I really like Coat Handler but my favor is petsilk love the smell and last longer too:thumbup:  it work great on my Phoebe she has cotton coat, but this is only my experience, try the one at petco or petsmart like you want it if you don't like it you can always return it, every dog is different (so I think). |
Johnson and johnson baby shampoo . |
I've never heard of this cranberry fields, but maybe I'll try that next time since you guys all seem to like it. |
I don;t have a petsmart or petco close to where I live so I have to order all my shampoo and conditioner off the net. I really like Cranberry Fields oatmeal shampoo and lavender conditioner, I liked minksheen too. I LOVE petsilk though, Love it. I also use earthbath puppy shampoo to was their faces, it smells so good like cherries, and I think you can get that at petsmart, I like the oatmeal conditioner in the earth bath too. I have also noticed alot of people use pantene ice shampoo and conditoner and have great things to say about it, I did use it on my yorkie and maltese once and I really liked how it made there coats feel and look, but then I tried the petsilk and I just love it too much to swich back right now. |
I love love LOVE earthbath mango tango shampoo, and I also really like Cranberry Fields. I couldn't tolerate the scent of minksheen and my little girl Emma didn't like it either.. she sneezed and sneezed and rolled around like crazy, so that one is out for us. |
I was in the supermarket and this caught my eye. Believe it or not Pantiene Pro V has shampoo and conditioner especially for silver hair. It's called Silver Expressions. They have it for all different types of hair dry, oily, flaky, ect... I use it on LullaBelle B/C with anything else She gets dandruff allot and with this she is flake free and her hair is so smooth and shinny,B/C of all the Vitamins. Her hair is just so Beautiful! My Groomer even asked what I used and she said thats awesome! |
My preferred shampoo regimines I use Clean Start shampoo on Shelby & Seymour. Because they have full coats, they can get kind of stinky on the backside ( Especially Shelbs because she squats more to pee). It really cleans their hair well. It is made for dogs and is in the Chris Christensen line. There is a website for their products. I also use the conditioners from them also. BUT...... ok..... here's my secret. I buy the Detangling solution by Biolage and use in in there long body hair. Take note.... not using it near face and eyes. IT MAKES COMB-OUTS a Piece of CAKE!!!!:aimeeyork |
I agree on earthbath, it smells really good and they sell it at petco. I also bought this shampoo by Pet Resort, it says Puppy shampoo and Dungeness Ranch, i got it at petco and so far it works really good on Teddy. It makes him really soft and shiny and it smells soooo good. |
I like to use Pantene Pro V shampoo and conditioner. Roxee's hair is super soft and shiney. She used to be SO knotted when I finished her bath, but she is not any longer. She even likes to be brushed after her bath now!!!:aimeeyork |
I have just been using the dog shampoo I already have in combination with the Pantene V shampoo and it really made their hair nice! Also, I added some rosemary essential oil drops to it and it smelled really good. |
