I don't get it Sorry, I like to think I'm reasonably intelligent, but that growth chart (King's House of Yorkshire Terriers) is hard to read. Is that supposed to be ounces, pounds and ounces, or what? My puppy is 25 weeks old....and weighs 5.5 pounds. SO what does that mean he's going to weigh as an adult? |
I would think just over 6 pounds. 1 pound = 16 ounces 5.5 pounds = 88 ounces go to 25 weeks and look at the weight straight down would be over 6 pounds. |
Take 5.5 pounds break it down into oz (5lb x 16 ozs = 80 0zs)+ 5 oz =85 ozs find 25 weeks go straight across till you find 85 ozs. Shows he will be a little over 6 lbs when grown. |
Thanks Well, thanks! I guess I didn't understand that the 18 mo meant full grown, bottom line, in this instance. Could it be that I was trying to understand that chart at 5:00 AM and before coffee? ARG>> |
growth 1 Attachment(s) I'm new to YT, still trying to find everything that you guys talk about. Where do I find this growth chart (King's House of Yorkshire Terriers)? We got our Bentley 4 weeks ago, at 10 weeks of age. He weighed 4.9 lbs then. He has been so much fun so far. I am really enjoying reading all the threads on here. We also have 2 outside beagles. We are in Arkansas, and look forward to talking to everybody. |

Thanks for the link to the growth chart. Have really been enjoying looking at everybody's pictures. They are all soooooo cute! |
hi all the website has changed from that address altho the chart is still active nothing else is. bookmark this chart http://yorkiepassion.com/growthchart.htm because I will be deleting the other one sometime soon remember this chart is just a gauge for toy breeds some pups are slow growers, some are fast growers and others stop putting on weight at about 6 months hope this helps |
Welcome to Yokrie Talk Miss Gracie! We are happy you found us. Your baby is so cute! |
hmm so according to that chart...bentley will weigh between 3.5 and 4 pounds.. is that right?? he's 15 weeks and weighs 2.2 right now. |
I was just talking with another yorkie mom about the weight thing... its really confusing too bc you have to make sure that when your yorkie is weight at the vet that they are weighing in ounces or pounds. My question was if my dog is 1.5 lbs...is that one and a half pounds or one pound 5 ounces. Its confusing bc one and a half pounds would be 1lb 8 oz. Luckily she got me all squared away, but when I saw this thread, I was glad that I wasnt the only one that got confused by this! |
Sorry for all the confusion on the chart 1/2 pound equals 8 oz 1 pound is 16 ounces maybe I should redo the chart (daunting thought) into pounds for you all:) |
Every week, my puppy seems to be a different weight at full grown using the chart because she grows different and does not stick to the chart it seems, so I guess I won't worry about it till she is 8 weeks old. :) |
If correct Pebbles will be a giant she is weighing 6 lbs at 18 weeks. That means alot more than the number that is there correct? So how will she weigh, I may need a wagon! lol So much for being a small dog! I still love her and would not trade her though! |
I have a question --- so after they hit over 26 weeks there done growing??? I was just wondering Tommy is 32 weeks old and is about 3.8 to 4lbs.. |
