Paw biting Cupcake is now biting her feet, and licking alot. I heard that could be allergies, what should i do? |
I'm curious as well...I'm beginning to have this problem with my other dog. Any ideas? |
Well Diggy does it also but only when he is frustrated at me or playing real hard....stuff like that. I dont think mines an allergy thing tho. |
My old pug use to do this. It would start up in August and go through October. He use to chew them until they had no more fur. He had allergies to the grass and had to be put on prednisone. It helped but he still did it every year!:( It made me feel terrible. I tried getting him to wear booties outside but he would just pull them off! |
I would think allergies - paw biting/chewing is considered the #1 sign of allergies. My guys both started doing it recently - I just didn't think this was allergy season - is it???? |
It sounds like allergies to me. Keep his paws clean and you may wanted to ask your vet about Benadryl and how much to give for your pups size. My Boomer has very bad allergies and takes it April/May of every year and it does help the itching. Good Luck! |
OH I'm glad you asked I was trying to find something on this the other day. Someone told me they thought it was a sign of an ear infection, but Alphy's ears are fine. He just started chewing on his paw about a week ago. I was thinking it was because he needs a cut. He's got an appointment next week so we'll see. |
Mitzi did that for many many years until we switched her to raw food. Her skin finally cleared up and those poor little paws are not chewed on anymore... YAY!!!!!! |
Poppy does this but only when she has come in from the garden, especially if it is wet out, I think she just does it to keep clean. |
