Chocolate/Tan Yorkies on website. Everyone has been so curious about the Chocolate/Tan Yorkies and what they look like. I was just scouting around and found a website that has pictures of theirs and thought some might want to see them. I hope this is alright to post. I'm not a breeder nor have any connection with them. This is my first thread I posted here, I'm more of a lurker. www.eastlandkennels.com: Look at their Sires and Dams and you will see adult Chocolate/Tan Yorkies. |
Thanks for the website. I have never seen an adult chocolate before. I was surprised that the female's ears were down. The male chocolate looks more like my Copper. It will be interesting to see how he changes. |
The choc/tan picture of that Yorkie looks so differant. Quite unusual actually. |

Is that mean to say ? I love yorkies very much but I can honestly say that particular chocolate wouldn't be coming home with me ...not that I have that kind of money ...lol.....I guess I could leave my opinion to myself ? |
site I talked with this breeder...had three chocolate litters coming and they were not that expensive compared to what breeders ask for Biewers. I don't care for the look of that one on the site...ears look like the hair is weighing them down..I have seen some darling ones, like Rini's boy. I will try one litter of Biewers and see how it goes.. |

Who is Rini? Do you have a picture of hers? Or is there one in the gallery? I hope Copper's ears stay up...I don't like the one with the ears down. :( |
reds Who is the poster with the two red pups? They are truly different..would love to see them grown up. |

I have the puppies that have 2 red ones in the litter. You will get to see them grow quite a bit. I will post pictures of them every Monday in the gallery (since they were born on a Monday) regardless of how they turn out (though I'm sure they'll be cute no matter what). All I know is that my Tiah is AKC and the daddy is AKC and comes from championship bloodlines (this is the first time I bred this pair...my Mom bred 3 of her females with this same little guy and has standard colored puppies). Tiah didn't breed with anyone else and has had 2 other litters with only the standard colored pups. Tomorrow their one week old pictures will be in the gallery (I will take them tomorrow). They are getting soooo chubby! |
I'm sorry but that dog looked he belonged in the Star Wars movie. Maybe it was the hair do. |

Oh good, I wasn't the only one thinking that about the choc one. Copper is a sweetie and so are Julz & Rini's babies :) |
something interesting I was looking up Chocolate Yorkies earlier too and found a website that talks about the Chocolate Yorkie's coloring, and it said ... What is a Chocolate Yorkie? Is it rare? CHOCOLATE YORKIE Actually, the "Chocolate Yorkie" is an overload of red gold and is a mutation of our breed and should not be bred as it is a complete loss of pigment. Notice that the nose is liver colored and that there are no black eye rims on this puppy. It is my understanding that AKC has many colors on their list that will allow almost any color Yorkie to be registered and the parent Club is working to disallow that. I have been approached by people who have registered this color, even though it is incorrect for our breed. There is no reason that they cannot be placed in a loving pet home and live a good life, but they are definitely a mutation to our breed and not in line with the Standard we want to withhold. Those that advertise this color as RARE are being dishonest in that they are just trying to enrich themselves with more money, in spite of the lack of pigment in the dogs they produce which could bring a genetic nightmare to the breed. Don't be taken in by this false advertising. *this was on www.shooterdog.com I have heard about blue yorkies, that are born already silver... and this is definitely a pigment problem. Their noses are blue as well as the hair. It said that when they get older (when the blue/silver usually comes in) their hair falls out, and it's extrememely painful for them... plus they look like sad little elephants. Many of them die very early and many need to be put down becuase of the pain. It seems like the pigment change in the brown is very minor and wouldn't really have a lot of effect on the health of the dog... so if you want one... more power to you. |
Good lands, I have done it again. Lost my reply to those blasted cybergods. So, I will try to remember what I was saying. I have had the pleasure of being exposed to several different variations of this breed since first I fell in love with them. I am thrilled when I see another color variation-why? Well, in part, because I know that they have existed for a long time but before the internet, we never had the opportunity to see them. They are rare-and I am NOT saying that is a good thing! It is simply a statement.. Do I think everyone should run out and search for one? Dear lord, no! These dogs are products of nature and in many cases engineered by we hoomans. I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF MY CRITTERS! Just the same as I LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE of my family members and friends no matter their color, nationality, spiritual beliefs or whatever. Each of us are entitled to our opinions on every phase of our lives and I respect others rights to express theirs. But, I am so thrilled to have so many different variations of every living creature in my life that it makes me smile. And, believe me, with my health problems I NEED to smile! I do appreciate the standard as set forth by the BREED CLUBS and I think that in a few years we will move on to another phase of our breeding. We will never all agree, but we can agree to disagree. |
