Do you do daft things for your baby? I don't really know how it started but now when I nip to the loo I end up playing ball.I am not keen on having the bathroom door closed and Ellie has discovered she can put her paw round and open it.Then she brings her ball so I can throw it all the way accross the landing into the spare bedroom. It has become such a ritual that whenever I go upstairs she runs to fetch her ball. Anyone do daft things? |
A lot of times, Betty does NOT like it when I sit at the computer! She wants me to lie down on the floor so she can lean up against me and chew her chewy!! I am NOT supposed to touch her during these times. If I do, she gets up and goes around and lays up against my back so I can't bother her! And I do it!! |
Those are too funny! Ozzie somehow feels he is entitled to most of my bed. (He lays longways across it, slowly edging himself over further during the night which puts me on the very end by the time he's done.) Not always, but most of the time I don't move him. |
Kalani has decided that he wants to sleep between my legs and if I move into a position where he isn't able to do that he will come up to my face and lick until I move into the correct position (he actually watches my legs as he's licking me) and then back he goes and is out like a light - LOL! |

Lol, Rhapsody has my daughter trained. She'll be sitting on the floor scratching Rhapsody's tummy, and then Rachel (my daughter) will decide to move over to the couch (or chair). Rhapsody will twist around where she can see Rachel(still on her back with her tummy exposed) and growl until Rachel gets up, moves back, and starts rubbing her belly again. The first time I saw this I couldn't figure what Rhapsody was growling about, until Rachel suddenly threw up her arms, and said "Okay, okay!" And rushed back over to where Rhapsody was waiting for more belly rubs, lol!! So who knows how long my dog has been training my child! |
Jake is very spoiled and likes to be held when he's sleepy. If I'm cleaning and he gets tired, he will come to me and want me to pick him up. If I just hold him for a few minutes and put him down, he will come to my feet and start stretching and stretching and want me to pick him up. So, I will pick him up and hold him and rub his tummy until he falls asleep and then lay him down. He's sucha spoiled boy!:) He sometimes acts like a baby, and I fall for it EVERY time.:D |
Yeah, we're kind of the same way...Sadie thinks that Mommy's potty time is play time for her!! I live alone, so I've always got the door open, too...she always brings a toy & if I don't throw it for her, I never get peace. |
OK, this will probably disgust some people, but it illustrates how daft I can be for my Yorkies: Jack recently got put on a prescription dry food. The pellets are larger than his old food. And since he has only one canine tooth and a few back teeth left, he can't chew much. He has a harder time swallowing the new food than he did his old, smaller pellets. When I realized that one day, I went up to his bowl, grabbed a pellet and bit it in half. I know it probably seems gross, but in obedience school, they have us store the treats in our mouth so the dogs look at our face and not our hands. So I'm sorta used to it. Anyway, when I fed Jack the "pre-chewed" food, he loved it. Now when he goes to his bowl, he barks at me to come over and bite it for him. My wife almost threw me out when she realized what he was barking for! Don't worry. I have since started breaking it up with a mallet. Jack still barks for attention, though. |

Awwwww. That's so sweet!! Gross but sweet! |
Oh My Gosh, I play ball in the bathroom too :) Simon drops it at my feet and makes me throw it out the door. HAHAHAHA And Mike, you are such a good daddy to those boys!!! They are lucky to have you~ |
Morgan wants to play fetch every morning while i'm sitting on the floor drying my hair. so i have to put the brush down a billion times to throw the ball for her and she comes back in like 20 seconds so i have to put the brush down again and throw the ball. Oh and Mike, that is soooo cute. I do that with some of morgan's treats because they are too big for her (yogurt drops mostly but some other grosser treats as well) |

While my husband is in the bathroom in the morning, Conner sits at the loo and wants his belly scratched. Every morning I can expect to walk by the bathroom and see this site - a lot of times I cover my eyes as I walk by!! |

The crazy thing I do for my yorkies is --- after exercise they have little stretches that I have to do on them. I have to stretch their little quadraceps and hamstrings in their back legs and to stretch out their little front legs. That's what the chiropractor said! I'm pretty well trained when it comes to toy throwing too! Everytime I call Dougal when we're in the house before he comes he races around trying to find a toy --then he throws it down in front of me and gets MOST perturbed if i don't throw if for him. (oh it's not hard for him to find a toy either - they're everywhere!) |

We have a morning ritual. Everyday between 5-6am Tia will wake up and try to jump up on our bed. If I don't respond she will make a quiet little growling sound to wake me up. If I still don't respond this will escalate to a little bark. Of course that hour is way to early for me, especially on the weekends. All she wants is for me to get out of bed, scratch her head, and then I can go back to bed and she can go back to sleep in herlittle bed. It's like she's just checking to make sure I'm still there. I know I'm totally trained...but a few seconds with her in the morning mean a more restful time for myself and my husband! Oh, and on the weekends, we'll let her jion us in our cozy bed! |
Ceasar Do you know how crazy this thread would drive Ceasar??? LMAO He thinks dogs should not even sleep with you.....As If.....Oh and they should not be able to bounce on your legs when you get home...we r 2 ignore them until we are ready to acknowledge them YA RIGHT! My Bella decides when I get to sit down, when I change out of work clothes AND what position I sleep in and when I go to sleep! Oh and Im NOT allowed to shut bathroom door EVER she wont have it.:aimeeyork She is the boss of me and I LOVE IT! |

I have never gone quite that far...However, I have hand fed him his wet food because for reason he didn't want to get his face in the bowl that day. He will also bring a toy in the bathroom and I will throw it for him. It's not an all the time thing though. |
We've all been trained by our Yorkies!!! You know now that I think of it, I have not gone into the bathroom by myself for 2 years! Wow, I have had a Yorkie on my shoulder and a Yorkie on my lap while sitting in the bathroom, I am really good at having a Yorkie on my shoulder all the while putting my face on in the morning. I sleep every night with 2 Yorkies between my leg or next to me. I can't move them either, I can wait till they are asleep move them and they come right back. Boy, I am so glad this is normal.......:D :D |
I too live alone and rarely shut the bathroom door. Bathroom breaks are always a family event. When I have company, the dogs do the same thing and barge right in. It's funny to hear what the person will say about it. I also carry Otis to bed like a baby. He makes sweet little sleepy sounds and doesn't move from the spot I lay him in. |
I am so glad to know that I am not the only one trained by their yorkie. If sawyer wants more water( the level in the bowl must be high enough so he doesn't have to put his face down and get wet) He will push the bowl all over the floor, spilling water everywhere, and bark until I come fill it to the level he likes. He also will bark at me, and jump on me until I add something he loves to his regular food( usually cottage cheese). I know Cesar would be so ashamed of me; but I just clean the mess with a goofy smile on my face. This little devil brings light into my life every minute he lives.:p |

Gypsy does the same thing with the water, I bought her a bowl she couldn't move and now she paddles one paw in it till I get her some more! She's even trained my BF to know what that means too! lol |
Bathroom ball is a constant! He brings me a different toy lots of times when I throw too, just to be sure I'm paying attention. I also have to put a piece of my food from my plate into his bowl while I sit at the table before he'll go to the bowl to eat. It doesn't matter if there's a carrot or whatever from my plate already in his bowl either. He has to see it come from my plate, to my mouth, and then into his bowl. Then I make him sit and I know he's thinking, "Is she ever going to give upon this nonsense? I always was the boss, still am and always will be!" |
