Under playpen. advise/ideas needed :) Well im getting an x-pen to put in my room for the puppy. but i have wood floors, so i was wondering what i should put under the whole xpen. something easy to clean, doesnt look too messy, and that wont be possibly harmful to the puppy of course Thanks :) pics of your xpen setup would be appreciated also |
I am wondering the same thing. We have an ex-pen in my room on wood floors. Mickey has decided to dig in his water bowl when we are not around- so my wood floors are now completely warped! There is a giant hill in the middle of his expen! I am thinking linoleum? |
I've heard a lot on here say they use shower curtains and tablecloths. I think the tablecloths with the backing would keep it from sliding. |
Vinyl flooring I bought a roll of Vinyl flooring from Home Depot; it costs about $20.00. Put it under the ex-pen, it works great. I use the flooring for the dogs' puppy pads. Do not cut the vinyl! It works best if it is large enough to reach outside of the ex-pen area (for spills, water, etc.). Make sure the vinyl that you choose is a light color, so you can see the accidents. |

I use either a cheap vinyl shower curtain liner or a cheap vinyl table cloth. The table cloth has a fuzzy backing that Gracie finds irresistable (she shreds the backing, don't ask me how!), so I pretty much stick with the shower curtain liner! |
But wouldn't a liner move around a lot on a hard surface? |

I have to layer a couple different things on my "potty room" hardwood floor. First I have these disposable surgery type sheets. what they put under a patient during surgery. they are very thin but waterproof. Then I put a baby bed mattress pad down, and then the baby diapers or underpads I use for potty pads. seems time consuming, but I'm trying everything I can to save my floors. Good luck! |
