How to stop Yorkie from playing/eating poop?? Anyone know of any products (that you have actually used with sucess) that stop a dog from eating it's waste? Brooklyn occasionally will play/eat his poop and it's really nasty. I was hoping he would grow out of it but he'll still occasionally do it when no one is watching him like a hawk. |
haha, wow, guess were all going through this. Although i havent tried any so far, here's what ive heard of trying. Add some pumpkin, pineapple pieces or pineapple juice to their food. Tastes good but its aweful when it comes out. Theres also some product you can buy at the petstore that you sprinkle into their food and again same solution, the product name escapes me at the moment. Im gona try those with my boy if he persists in eating his poop. Im usually around now to clean it before he can get to it, but the days i leave him for a while ill be sure to try these things out. Best of luck! |
Someone recommended Anise and alfalfa sprouts, I ground the anise in my coffee mill and chopped the alfalfa sprouts fine and mixed about 1/4 tsp each in her morning and evening meals (because she gets a tbsp canned with kibble mixed in at these meals and you could mix it in easily. She hasn't "snacked" on anything lately  thank goodness. |
I used S.E.P. (stop eating poop) - it's a powder you sprinkle on their food - a MIRACLE for me. I've heard it hasn't worked for others, which is strange bc the SEP is supposed to make their poo totally unappetizing. I got mine online. |
I just started giving Rebel a product called Deter about 4 days ago. He hasn't touched his poop since. It comes in pill form and he gobbles it right up, so it's easy to give. I ordered it from PetFoodDirect.com. I sure hope it works, there's nothing grosser than poop eating. No puppy kissing here! |
