I need your advise/opinion Ok, moose is our first "little" dog and first ever to let on the furniture or bed. He is 10# 1 oz and 8 1/2 months. We just got a new mattress two days ago and I am really stressing out on him "jumping" off our bed. It is 34-35 inches high. We have doggie steps that he uses to get up on the bed, but he WON'T use them to get off. He thinks he is superman... (flies thru the air before he lands). Our old bed wasn't this high and I didn't mind. I am so worried that he will hurt himself over time. What do you think??? :animal-pa |
Hey, Sadie does that, too! Our bed is pretty high, and it took her a little bit, but she finally figured out how to take a flying leap onto it, and jump off of it as well. Makes me nervous! (Not so much the jumping up, but the jumping off.) I wish I could offer advice, but I'm in the same boat... :) |
I started to laugh when I read your post. All I could picture is this little yorkie flying through the air like superman yelling wwwweeeeeeee! LOL:D |

You'll have to see what some ppl who have smaller furbabies have to say but I would think that at his size it wouldn't be as much of a worry as with the tinys. |

Well, yeah but very stud eventually is broken down!! lol I am more worried for a few years down the road...... knee or joint problems!:animal-pa |

ok. thanks:D |
At least he has the hang of using them to climb up. Maybe if you work with him and some treats you can train him to use them to climb down. Good Luck! |
We trained Cali from day one to use the stairs and then the ramp by giving her treats and working with her to go up and down. When we got Pixie she was 13 months old and was in a pen at the Breeders so everything was new to her. I worked with her on going up and down with treats and by the 2nd day she was racing up and down the ramp. |
