Microchipping Has anyone here gotten it done? How much did it cost? Is it just like one big national registry that your pet's info is in, and wherever your pet is it can be traced? I'm considering getting it done when I get my Yorkie because of the recent thefts of Yorkies in L.A., and to have peace of mind. Thanks for any help! |
Yes, it is a national registry. If a pet is suspected of being lost or stolen, a vet or another animal authority scans the back of the pet's neck for a chip, which will give info. Try visiting this site: www.homeagainid.com I had Gracie chipped when she was spayed. My vet charged $35 to implant the chip. She gave me all of the info then I went online and registered all of the info. That was a one time fee of $17.00. I have the Home Again chip. |
Thank you! |
Home again chips in Kansas run about $60 which includes all the reg. with Home again. I am wanting to get Duke done, if they are NOT alseep does any one know if it hurts. He hates needles. |

Baby was already micro chipped when I got her. |
I had all 3 of mine microchipped while awake. The vet said they all did fine. I just had Pixie done last week and she is 3 lbs and the vet said she was the bravest one she had ever done. It cost 40.00. |
I had my Johnny microchipped. They did it when he was awake and he didn't even make a sound! The vet was extremely suprised because the needle is so big. He showed me the needle and I about passed out;) But Johnny didn't seem to mind at all. He's a tuff 2.11 pound guy! Oh yeah, btw it cost $40 where I'm at.:) |
Autumn was done when she was spayed. It cost me $55 to have it done and then the $17 reg fee. |
We got the home again chip and it was $35 |
Same here microchipped both of them. $30.00 is what it cost and then send in the paperwork for I believe another $14.95. |
for Romeo it will be $50 and that includes the act. fee - then the $14.99 a month home again fee. |
