Rebel's teeth I took the babies to the vet this afternoon....Lucy for her 1 year checkup, vaccinations, and rabies. Rebel to have his teeth looked at. I've had trouble with his baby teeth not falling out and "doubling up". His breath is bad and his upper canines are beside each other and the gum looks irritated. The vet said that for his age (9 mos) he has a LOT of buildup. He gave him a new vaccine that is supposed to help with his teeth  . I made an appointment 3 weeks out to have his dental and remaining baby teeth removed. I feel really bad because when I've tried to brush his teeth, we fight tooth and nail! Now I feel guilty because maybe I didn't do it well enough and now he may be suffering because of it. Anybody else out there have this problem? BYW - he said Lucy's teeth are just beautiful:) |
teeth Maxwell gets wild when I try to "brush" his teeth. I had a sweetie for 12 years and he had terrible teeth - I don't want this to be the same, I just don't know how you are supposed to get them to cooperate, so I'm in the same boat. |

Rebel won't have anything to do with me this morning. I took them outside at 6 this morning and now he's hiding behind a clothes basket watching me:( He acts like he's ticked at me! I picked him up outside and he scrambled to get away from me. I know this is silly, but do ya'll think he's mad about going to the vet yesterday and getting a shot???? |
I think it sounds like your little guy has a personality, just like a human kid. So he might be. I know this doesn't help you, but how cute!!!:) And about his teeth, Sadie has not lost all of hers yet and some are doubled. I've had her into the vet. two times in the past three weeks, they never said anything about it. We give her "Greenies" to help out when we can't clean her teeth. I will ask the vet the next time we go in, what we should do about this. Thanks!:animal36 Amy and Sadie |
I talked to the vet about Rebel's teeth when he was neutered and the vet said to wait a while because normally the baby teeth push the permanent ones out. That did happen on Reb's bottom canines but is not happening on the top ones. I didn't really start worrying until his breath became "stinky" even after a greenie or me trying to brush his teeth. I'll be glad when he loves me again and those baby teeth are out:p |
