My yorkie is 4.5 lbs and she is only 18 weeks. Is this normal I would love for her to stay less than 5 pounds full grown but I guess that is not going to be case. Do you remember how heavy your yorkie was at 18 weeks? Do you think she would do more growing? Thanks.:) |
4.5 pounds At 18 weeks? Yeah, you're in for a bigger dog than 5 pounds, I think. Most of them will continue to grow to 12-18 months. She could be 10 or more. I hope you're not discouraged, though. They come in all shapes and sizes, but across the board have fantastic personalities. |
At 18 weeks Chloe was 2lbs 2oz. Now, at 6 months, Chloe is under 2lbs due to a "hunger strike," but she's going back up :D! Her estimated weight was 3-3.5lbs, but there's no way she'll get to 3. We're hoping for at least 2.5lbs. |
this is a daily question here on yorkie-talk. many people come here asking the size question. breeders cannot guarantee a size. even if the parents are small, the baby could end up being larger due to grandparents, great grandparents etc... i hope you are happy with your baby. size is not everything. their love is #1. welcome to yorkie talk and we look forward to seeing your baby grow. ps, many of us have teapots. |
I think your little girl is going to be on the bigger side. Look at the bright side there is just more of her to love.:aimeeyork |
My little girl is 20 weeks old today and weighs 5 lbs not sure how much more growing she has to do I'm just glad she got to 5lbs we will have to wait and see. |
