Non-stop! I was wondering if at 12-13 weeks anyone's puppy is OVER active. My little Coco is so wired at certain times of the day. She runs so fast I can't even catch her, it's like she has a built in motor in her butt. There are times she's just calm and chews her bone, but sometimes I try to put her on her back to calm her down but she just wiggles right out of my hands. Like at night I try to cuddle with her for 10-15 minutes before I put her in her bed, and all she wants to do is bite and run and play. Maybe some catnip will do the trick..haha...just kidding you guys. Seriously though, anyone else have this problem?? |
Mine are over one, and still are very active in the morning and in the evening. After they run around about an hour, then they calm down and lay around most of the rest of the time. |
Dixie is just over 11 weeks and has been with us for a week. We have a family room & kitchen that just has a wall in middle and both ends are open. Dixie views this as a race track and zoom away she goes. She runs laps around this wall. She has run so fast her butt is going probably 100miles an hour, her head 50miles per hour and she lands on her face and the butt keeps going. I have told everyone, this lil dog has more spunk and energy then the sheps ever did. Zoie had a litter of 8 pups and none of them would have come close to Dixie. I have found her new favorite game to be-I have it now ya gotta get it. She picks up sons toys looks at me like haha and takes off. I know I cant catch her so I wait for her to settle on her pillow then I go take it. |
My Zack is the same way...very active when I'm home. (he's 14 weeks old) I think he mostly sleeps during the 9 hours I'm at work, then when I come home, it's time to play, play, play! This morning I had to put him on my bed so I could get ready for work. He ran laps on the bed like a tiny racecar! I laughed so hard I got the hiccups! He is so funny! |
lol macy is the same way. She is like the energizer bunny she zooms around here like theres no tommorow. Usually she has one of the kids socks in her mouth as well.lol |
I can't put her anywhere high, she thinks she's a lab. She will jump from any height, any location, anywhere...haha |
At 12 weeks Chachi my most active yorkie was just as you described. He also loved to chew on you at that age. Hes 5 months now and has calmed down considerably. He still has moments where hes all go but its not all the time. He also stopped the chewing except an occasional thing he chews up. But he doesn't chew on on feet anymore. |
Chewy is like a wind-up toy. He runs and plays and goes crazy, but at 10 PM every night without fail he just curls up on me pooped from all that running around. |
Romeo is 5 months now...very active in the mornings and of course when we walk in the door from work...he's so excited we just have to let him run for 5 minutes and opening the gate up from his space which is the laundry room with a gate in front of the washer and a small hallway....he calms down after dinner and cat naps til bedtime with playtime in between...he loves to lick toes! |
Linus does that too. He and Lucy will run laps around the house for about 10 or 15 minutes, and then next thing I know, he's fallen over wherever the last place he stopped was and is dead asleep. It happens within about 3 minutes. It's the strangest thing... |
