My Little Closet Eater!
 
We just brought Abigail home yesterday and she will not eat in front of us! I will catch her eating once I leave the room and she will stop if she sees me watching. We are now ignoring her until she is done. I hope this is a temporary behavior. Anyone else ever come across this problem? :confused:

Oh, not me...my babies always eat like you never fed them before

if i can remember, i think our little girl did that too...dont think she was that bad about it..but with her being so small, i had to make sure she ate...

try holding her and feeding her out of your hands..i know they say that you shouldn't but i'd rather have my baby eating than NOT eating..especially at such a young age...it lets them know that its alright...

LOL!!!! Peanut and Toby will eat anything that isn't moving, but I was warned that this little girl is finicky and that she would test me. She is 4 mnths old and weighs 1 pound 3 oz, so I am concerned that she is not getting enough. I am supplementing with Nutrical though.
By the way, my thoughts and prayers are with your precious Booboo!! :(

I guess I should not panic yet since she has only been here 24 hours. I let her eat turkey off the carpet. LOL!! Hey, whatever works!! Thanks for the advice!! :)

Be careful not to give her any turkey skin, as it can cause pancreatitis. Boiled chicken would be much better. :)

Oh thanks!! That's god to know. I was giving her sliced oven roasted turkey breast from the deli, no skin. She had boiled chicken last night but turned her nose up to it today. Thanks though...I had no idea about the turkey skin.

LOL Cute, Alphy is totally opposite. If I leave the room he runs after me to see where I am. He won't eat unless I stay in the room and then every time he takes a bite he looks to make sure I'm still there.

Rosi does this too, she hates eating alone ! Poli grabs a piece and eats it somewhere else !:rolleyes:

Buddy won't eat unless I'm standing next to him or at least close by.
I can't help you but I hope it's temporary for your sake.
He also won't eat anywhere but home!

I have no solutions to your problem but can I see baby Abigail's pic :) . . I must have missed this :rolleyes: pretty please? Congratulations . . . I bet she is a total DOLL :thumbup:

Des, you may not remember but you made a beautiful reversible dress, pajamas and panties for her in a T0. You were soo sweet to add an extra pajama as well!! :D She is going to make her YT debut in her gofetch attire next week, after she settles in and has a bath. Here are a few no frills pictures taken this week! We brought her home Wednesday and by Thursday morning she seemed like she had always been here. She is fasinated by Toby and Peanut although she only visits with them through a gate at this point. I am scared of her size with the two of them, especially Toby who already is not real thrilled about his new baby sister. LOL!!!

She is just adorable. What a cute little button!! Well, I had a foster Yorkies that was that way when I first got her, but she learned really quick from the rest of the fosters and my dogs to eat when it's put down or lose it. :p I'm sure once she "knows" she is in a loving and safe home and isn't going anywhere else, she will eat no matter who's watching! :D

Thank you for the incouragement. :) Maybe once I let her eat with Peanut and Toby she will get the hang of it. This new mommy stuff is not easy. :(

Jake does the same thing! He's so nosey, he has to know what's going on at ALL times lol

Maggie doesnt eat as well if she thinks i'm looking while she eats. sometimes she'll be eating and just see me come in the room and walk away from her food. she will be 1 year old june 4th. Shes staying at her dish eating better now if i just pay her no mind and act as tho I dont even see her.

Cali was always a picky eater but once Pixie came they all devour their food. What a cutie. She has a face like my Pixie.

Yes that is exactly like Abbie!! :eek: The vet told me today that she has to eat wet food 4 times a day. Well I can't even get her to eat it once!!!! ARGGHH!!!!!

She is SOOO cute!!!! Just let her eat on her own, don't worry. London was the same exact way when she first came, well actually she didn't like to eat at all! But now she is great, although sometimes she just eats like a bird and she has a weird eating habit now. But just make sure she gets nutrical since she's so small and give her a little treats here and there, maybe chicken and rice ;)
