am I the only one? plz check it out Im on the search for a puppy, and i love looking at breeders websites and looking at their puppies. But something that really turns me off, is when the puppies are wearing too much clothing (dresses, tiaras, boas, pearls, ect..) and in unatural situations, like in tcups, champagne glasses, ect and they just dont look happy or comfortable.. . i showed my friends one of these places and they thought it was ADORABLE. dont get my wrong, i love bows, and clothing on yorkies, its cute, but not when they look scared and uncomfortable. and in order for me to see how small the puppy is maybe put it next to something, but i think putting a puppy in a glass is just wrong. am i the only one who doesnt like this? for example, heres 1 i found in my newspaper classifieds.. http://i14.tinypic.com/6hgyxy1.jpg and another.. http://i14.tinypic.com/4kjzqfo.jpg |

I agree. I don't like when they do that...and Im sure they do not like being stuck into a glass or a mug!! |
I'm with y'all. Puppies are so cute on their own- they don't need to be so staged. |
Man that poor dog in the glass :( I don't think that's cute either..I think it's scary for the dog - but people find it tempting to buy dogs that small so there's always going to be sellers who use that as a marketing ploy. if my girls looked THAT unhappy wearing clothes - I wouldn't put any on them... ever ..unless it was for their own protection like freezing cold weather |

My Chloe is not much of a smiler....:( She has her moments, but it seems her mouth is always closed. |
That is ridiculous, that poor dog in the wine glass looks like he or she is stuffed in there and the other one w/all the bling bling on it............give me a break!!!! |
that poor dog in the glass!!:( there are other ways to show the dogs size in relationship to an object without subjecting it to that!! and the prima donna outfit! that is too much jewelry for a woman! |
i feel the same as you, but what is really annoying is the MUSIC. if there is music on a site, i just go to another site. |
That first picture is especially horrible. Not only does it look well, stupid; I'd be so afraid the glass would shatter and cut the poor puppy. |

I agree 100%!!! |
Both of those pictures are ridiculous |
 cant stand it when a puppy is stuffed into a object just to show there size:thumbdown |
When selling a pup, I'd prefer to see a nekkid doggy with a little bow. :p |
:( so sad.................. |
well i don't agree with the puppy in the glass...but some puppies are not that uncomfortable with clothes on...my babies don't mind it...i guess it depends on the situation... |

i didnt mean like puppies in general, i agree some dogs do like clothes . but when im buying a puppy, id rather see THE PUPPY. and yes, i do this an extreme amount of clothing (skirt, shirt, shoes, tiara, socks, belt ect..) all in 1 outfit, is ridiculous. |
I think that is sad. I don't have a problem with clothes in general but I think when they are so young it just frightens them and some dogs will never really like clothes at all. I think some people want them to like them SO much that they sort of force them to be a certain way when in fact they would be happier other wise. I think it's sad when they put them in objects to show how small they are. When they are so young they certainly have to be scared and it can't be fun to be squished into tiny things just for a cute picture. I know that most of these breeders do take off the gimics when they aren't taking pictures but I don't know, there's just something in a dogs eyes, you can see it, it's like they are sad, and I think if they are like that and don't enjoy wearing clothes they shouldn't be made to wear them. |
Both those pictures were over-the-top! And the one with the puppy in the glass; I found that to be disturbing. . . |
You can definetly see it in their eyes when a puppy just isnt happy. once you look past the clothes, jewlery, cups ect.. you really can tell. maybe some good breeders just think its cute, but im sure some are just trying to hide a sad, sick looking puppy by adding all that stuff |
I do not think the dog is suffering or in pain. This picture probably took few seconds. Everybody sells their puppies as they please and if you do not like it do not buy it! lol. simply as that! One thing about the yorkie sites is that they all have oldies music and stupid pictures but well... that Sells! |
I feel bad for that dog in the first pic. I just hope they really do take care of them and it was just for the pics but still, it must be so frightening for them. My two don't mind clothes and just frolick and play around when they have them on, they don't care but if I knew they really hated them then I wouldn't put it on them. |
I don't think its too traumatizing for the dog itself, I just definitely would not buy a dog from a breeder who used a wine glass or teacup, or excessive clothing to sell a dog. These are generally the type of breeders that advertise 'teacups' and sell them for thousands upon thousands of dollars. |
I think its sad...that poor baby is adorable but looks scared to death in that glass...maybe they need pics of the breeder in a glass or wearing all that heavy bling bling around their tiny necks.... |
