What has happened to Scruffy? Does anyone know how scruffy is doing? The dog that was burned by the vet? I can't find the thread...any information will help. James |
Here's the original thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...scruffy+burned No updates in a while, though... |
Thank you |
I have searched for the last hour and read all I could find on Scruffy and was hoping and wondering if anyone knew how little Scruffy was. The last thing I could find was a post from mid July but thats it. I read the original post when it happened. I had Bitsy spayed Tuesday of last week and didn't even think to ask about the heating pad. Bitsy got burned on her lower back side and a small spot on her right side. It's NO WHERE near as bad as Scruffy's but since it happened, and I had told another YT member, she reminded me of Scruffy, so I've been looking for an update to see how he is recovering from it. Bitsy hasn't seemed in pain with it much and she is on meds. I also wanted to remind everyone who will be spaying their dog to ASK about the heating pad and let their vet be aware that this can happen!!!! We discovered the first spot last Friday and couldn't figure out what it was...and by Sunday we discovered two more. I took her to the vet first thing Monday morning because I thought maybe she had some sort of staff infection or mange or something cause her hair had come out...and when the vet shaved her backside we saw how bad it was:( He was honest and very apologetic and sympathetic. He said he had never had that happen before. I've printed out the story of Scruffy and some of the post about it so I can take it to him tomorrow. He was genuinely sorry. Does anyone know if Scruffy is healing well and if his hair grew back??? Bitsy is shaved on a good portion of her lower backside.I got upset the first time I read the post about Scruffy but even more so tonight. I just completely forgot about it and I feel so bad for Bitsy:( If anyone has any info on Scruffy...I'd love to hear!!! |
I just read the thread on Scruffy. Oh my gosh that is so sad. That vet needs to be shut down. There should of been someone there checking on those animals. I would also like to know how that little dog is doing. |
Just bumping this thread to see if anyone knows anything. Maybe I should have started a new one??? |
Michelle, you must be so upset. Scruffy's story is one of those storys that stayed on my mind. I can imagine how upset I would be if it happened to Desi even if its a little bit. I hope Bitsy heals soon. |
Thank you so much Nedda :) I think Bitsy will be ok. She has one spot on here that isn't looking good and am going to take her by the vet this afternoon, but the others look like they are drying out and healing ok. I just can't help but wonder about poor little Scruffy....I guess no one knows anything about him or else they would have said something. That story broke my heart when I first saw it and when it happened to Bitsy it really hit home :( |
(((((((Scruffy))))))) :lovewings :lovewings :lovewings :lovewings :lovewings |
Michelle, I am just now reading this and I'm so sorry that happened. It's just uncalled for IMO. Apologies are great, but heating pads come with warnings, too. I'm certain that they malfunction with age or when someone doesn't check on how hot they are. A doggie that is under anesthesia can't get up and move. :( Connie is usually on here at night. You might PM her. Wasn't it her dau that worked with this woman that had the yorkie/maltese? She should be able to find out the latest updates... This makes me feel weak in the knees. I'm supposed to take Kacee in on the 21st. :( |
wow, i really missed something! i never remember hearing about that! i'll go read the thread now. how sad  |

OMG! You've had one of those days. Maybe that's what they really meant by dog days! Hope the little leg gets well fast, too. I hope you had your tennis shoes on when the other one decided to go jogging! |
