Pics of my sensational six Hi Finally figured out how to post pics (look them up in member's gallery)(and put in an avatar) thanks to the help of my genius son. They are doing OK, but the tiny one is still a little over 4 ounces and hasn't gained much. I bought some milk formula (german brand)especially made for puppies. How much should I give her? and when? before or after suckling? Thanks for all the great advice until now! Lisa |
Here is the link for easy access: http://www.yorkietalk.com/gallery/sh...r/3072/cat/500 They are SO cute!! Thanks for sharing! |

They are adorable, lilliput! Take extra care of that small tiny one! :) |
awww puppies!!!! they are so cute make sure to post pics as they grow!!! |
Thanks for all the support! Yes they are amazing,so soft, and Iam weighing them every evening (didn't take care of my own babies this closely!) The biggest (the only male) is 9 ounces, andthe littlest one is 4 ounces. But she is slowly gaining weight. Should I give a supplement, and how do I go about doing that? How much milk (Ibought a powdered milk that you mix up from Germany especially for puppies) What do you think? |
They really are gorgeous!! I wouldn't supplement the pups if they are ALL eating and ALL gaining. At least not at first. Keep a CLOSE CLOSE eye on their weight and on the Mother. She should not get too thin. You'll need to give her meat, cheese, cottage cheese, and an occassional cooked egg (no salt or butter). She'll definetly need the protein. You have so many that you probably will need to supplement the Mom. I can't believe in this day and age they haven't come up with a better word than "Bitch" for our female pets, but you need to get "Bitch Milk Replacement". Ask your vet about supplementing the babies before just trying something on your own. That really is an incredible litter you have there! Mine are 4 days old today and I just got a 2 hour nap. Most sleep I've got since they were born. You must be exhaused! good luck! Julz |
Hi Julz, This is my first litter of Yorkies (been through a few with german shepherds, but they are so big I never even THOUGHT about them) but this is so different! I worry that Chloe is eating enough , getting enough calcium and when to wash her, I worry about the puppies and weigh them twice a day, I worry about everything! They are the most amazing little babies. Went out and bought a digital camera just to take pics of them and have an easier time to put in the gallery. As soon as I figure out how to use it I will send pics. All the best, Lisa |
Hi Lisa, Bath Chloe as soon as you think she won't mind being away from them for an hour. After bathing her, she has to be COMPLETELY dry before placing her back with her babies. Follow up every day with a "belly washing". I use a little more than "warm" water to get Tiah clean and then use "cool" just because it seems like she needs it. Those teeny little puppies have pretty sharp nails! This is my third Yorkie litter, if I can help you with anything, I am here for you. |
Bless you :wavey: Hi Julz I bless everyday that I found this site!! First of all, thanks, I am sure that I will be taking you up on that, I am already getting great advice from other yorkie lovers (feminstvr) and the help and information has helped me to be so much more confident  about what I am doing (if that is possible!) Like I said before, let's keep in touch. All the best, Lisa |
Lisa, the puppies are just beautiful! Sounds like your really taking good care of them. I bet it is a little scary when they are that tiny, I know that they are going to grow up so fast you won't remember how little they really were... |
