pregnant So i have a question. My little yorkie Haylee is pregnant and due on about the 20th of may. We're very excited for shes a first time mother, but also very worried. We're not quite sure what type of bed to get for her, because shes one that is very greedy and loves to hide anything thats hers so no one else can touch it. I was thinking about getting a kennel that the lid comes off of, so i can easily get to her and the babys, and if i need to go out, i can shut the lid so she cant get out and hide them. anyone else have any other suggestions on what i could get for her? |
Congratulations! I don't know anything about how to set her up for the babies, but I wish you all well with the pregnancy and the babies. Are you going to get her a maternity dress or two? |
When my dog had puppies, I used an x-pen but kept part of it folded so that it was a smaller area. In there I put her bed, I just used a plastic tub with an old blanket for a bed. At first she just had enough room just for the bed and pee pad, and of course her food and water. As the puppies got older, I made the pen larger so the puppies had room to play. I also set this up in another room away from my other dogs, as she is very protective of the pups and gets upset when my other dogs would come sniffing around. Hope this helps and congratulations on your upcoming litter. Martha |
Congratulations!!!! I can't wait to see pictures!!! |
Thanks guys, that helps alot. I have a pin of sort that makes a large square, so ill just set that up but make it smaller. then larger after the puppies get bigger. No maternity dress for her though:( shes a little bugger when it comes to clothes:P she does love her bows though. I'll post pictures as soon as i can:) |
congratulations on your new babies to be! We wish your baby an easy delivery too!! :D You might also post on the breeder section to see if they can help you out too! There is lots of information on there as we have a lot of yorkie breeders on this site. Can't wait for the pictures!! ...Linda |
