For those who use washable pads...
 

Do you think I could use this? They are definitely a lot cheaper than traditional washable puppy pads, and I'm sure they are basically the same things.

Weird question but... what do you do with your washable pads until you have enough to wash? It's seems like a waste do a laundry load with just one dirty pad.

:thumbup: I use the ones from target that come in a 3 pack for $6. Work just fine.....

i bought some clothe one from a yt members store

i have two and washed them everyday with detergent and liquid softner and works great..the only thing i would be worried about, on the ones you picked is they are WHITE, might not come clean as easliy or hide stains well..but thats a great idea

Question on the washable pads, do they tend to use throw rugs as well since they are cloth? I am going broke using the wee wee pads.

sometimes they mess up, but that might be me..for some reason i cant get the potty training down as i would like to

Yes, but it mine did that before I ever changed to washable ones. I think they just like going on something absorbent so it doesn't splash, etc. on them. But I really like the washable ones.

To answer someone elses question Yes, I wait until I have a load to wash them, but it doesnt take many as I have a large size and they are quite bulky as they are VERY absorbent and hold a lot.

I wonder about the one's from Wal-mart and Target, do they last a long time? It looks like they are nonwoven, are they?

I have used crib pads before. They work fine. What I have found that works even better are washable underpads from Valethics. I get the ones that are 27" x 36" for around $5.00 each.

I have a disposable human pad I use and clorox keeps it white. Works great!

I got washable crib pads from ebay and cut them to size I wanted, and stiched around the edges. They were 2onds, and some had a few small flaws. Works just great.

i hang them out back, and rinse them. When they are dry, I put them in a garbage bag, and when i have a load, I bring inside, and throw them in the washer.

Mine are white, and they still come out looking clean.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I am going to get some.. I feel bad for all the wastefullness with the throw away ones.

It's so funny that you would put these up, I bought the exact same pads and I'll tell you about my experience.

First, I'll have to say that initially I loved them. :thumbup: Since I bought the variety pack that had all sorts of sizes, I cut them down and sewed up the ends so she could have a good four or five little pads. The first day I put them down, Cali peed on them, pooped on them, and everything was fine. But as time went on, Cali decided she wanted to tear these up too, and set out on her mission. Because the pads have a high pile or nap (or whatever you call it) on them, they are fuzzy after a couple of washings. If you have a true terrier like I do, then your little pup will also notice the fuzz and commence to digging. :eek: Cali dug and dug until she was able to tear a nice hole in there, right on down to the plastic inside. And ofcourse, once she got to the plastic, what is more fun than to get a nice amount of it in your mouth and shake your head vigorously until you get a good couple of rips in that!:mad: So, no, in the long run, those pads didn't work for me.

So, even though the piddle-pads aren't really cheap, in the long run, they have worked best for me. They wash great, absolutely no fuzz, and except for a couple of draggings, Cali doesn't try to demolish them. I am a believer!:thumbup:

i have one of those laundry sorters with 3 different places to put laundry in. 1 for white, 1 for darks and the other for pads. i keep a thick black garbage bag in there and keep it twisted closed until wash time. i only have to wash my pads once a week and i havent had any probs with smell.

I have recently switched from chux pads to crib pads and cloth baby diapers. The crib pads are great, they do not soak through. You cannot even see yellow on the other side. I'm not sure how long they are going to last with regular washing though, but I guess it's still better for the environment. I have a seperate small laundry basket in garage for them.

forgot to say this, throw rugs are a thing of the past in my house. Mine couldn't tell the difference between the 2. Having no cute throw rugs is a small price to pay for the convenience of using potty pads. I live along and work long hours sometimes.
