It started on early Tuesday morning Darcy, Katie (her mom), Bandidy, and Sammy SoSo was let out in the fenced in back yard to potty. Reba was getting everyone food ready and she let the group in. She thought they were all in exceptKatie, Bandidy& Sammy kept sitting at the back door that is when Reba counted heads and relized that Darcy was missing. She open the back door and went out to search for her she called and called no Darcy. So Reba got in her van and started looking for her now this is at 5:30 am. When ever she saw someone outdoors she stopped and asked if they had seen her. She search none stop for 3 hrs. She went home and called a friend and she came over and they started searching again. Driving down the alleys and roads she asking the mailman on her side of town. by this time i found out and started searching too. There was no sign of her anywhere. There was at least 6 different people looking at different times the rest of the day and evening.
Wed. Reba was out in the van by dawn. She was up and down all night calling for her. By now the gas stations knew about her the mail people was looking for her on their routes. You were all praying for Darcy and Reba. It was put on the radio Tuesday, Wed, Thurs, & Friday on a special swap shop twic e a day and still no one saw her.
Thursday Reba still search her side of town (now our town is only over 5,000 people) We were looking on my side of town and Reba's we didn't think she had made it over here that is over mile and a busy highway away.( little did we know) The paper came out at 4;00 pm and finally a phone call came that Darcy had been seen over by the High School several hours before the paper. The lady said she was real sorry that she didn't try to get her. She said she looked losst. That was 5 blocks from home. Reba called her one daughter and they started searching over there but nothing. They gave up at dark. Reba was up and down all night calling for her.
Friday started our city wide rummage sale for two days. Reba got a call from another lady called saying she saw Darcy on State St and 2nd standing in the middle of the road looking lost like she was looking for something. It was raining Thursday night and heavy rain Friday morning. The lady didn't attempt to catch Darcy. She didn't know she was lost until she got her mail with the paper in it.:( This at least gave us all hope that she was alive and still ok. Reba and other searched the area and still nothing. Remember now There are rummage sales going on too.
Saturday Early morning Reba got a phone call saying they saw a yorkie on 6th and Kitchell St. Now there are close to 100 rummage sales going on that day. Reba and her daughter Tracy stopped by and told me what they had found out. So they were searching this area now this area is only 3 blocks from my house a mile from Reba's. I was having a garage sale so everyone that came in I told about Darcy and told them if they caught her to bring her to me. I didn't have Reba's daughter cell #. About 1 hr later Tracy and Reba stop by again and said they saw Darcy on the golf course and was trying to get her to come to them. When they called her name she stopped and started to tolds them but the stupied grounds keeper was on the BIG lawn mower and scared her off. So Reba and Tracy kept driving around the block trying to get her. They saw her on several of the holes and there were 2 more grounds keepers mowing. I called my friend that runs the restrunant and told her about Darcy and have the guys try to catch her. By now poor Darcy is really running scared. My friend did tell me a half a hour before I called her she had seen Darcy at the garbage container but she thought she belong to a large group of people that was just a 100 yrds away sitting at a building in Kitchell Park. During the chase at the golf course Reba and Tracy had Darcy coming to them another time but a lady tryiing to be helpful stopped and was calling her and Darcy started toward her until a guy in a truck and his child both jumped out and started towards her real fast and spooked her off and running again on the golf course.
Well Reba and Tracy said they lost site of Darcy after a while and moved the search a few blocks over. I sent my son and husband out to look in the Park again. It was at this time that a super nice lady caught Darcy under a truck she had ran over to the people at the building and was hiding under the truck. Bell Sims the lady and took her home took the sticks and burrs out of her hair gave her a bath and feed her. She then took her with her to a event out at the park again. Tracy was taking her mom Reba home for a rest. On the way home they stopped and talk to a good friend and told him what has been happening well this other guy was listening and told them that he didn't know what a yorkie looked like but a friend of his name Bell Sims found this little black & tan long hair dog. And Reba asked where she found her and he said at the Park.:D They asked him if he had her cell number and he didn't but Bell's ex husband just live a few houses down the road. So they all went there and had the ex call her and she brought Darcy right over. At this very same time I was talking to a friend telling her Darcy had been seen earlier and this girl was in my garage looking and she turned aaround and said are you talking about a yorkie named Darcy and I said yes and she said my mother had found her and was just then giving her back to the owner. Needless to say I grabbed the girl and gave her a big hug and jumping up and down (Boy I bet she thought I was crazy as a Loon:D ) She asked me if it was my dog and I said no just a very close friend.
Bell wouldn't take the reward she told them she has a yorkie to and if hers went missing she just hope someone would find her and take care of her.
Darcy is going to the vet tommorow to be checked out she has a small scrapped on one leg nothing serious but since she has been on her own wondering the streets the poor baby she needs to checked up. She has lost a few lbs. RIght now Reba takes her outside on a leash but Darcy steps outside and turns right around and goes on her wee wee pad. She is still quite and skittish. Reba said she slepted with her but every once in awhile she jumps and looks around like she is afraid something is out there after her.
So this is Darcy's long ordeal and we will never know eveything that happened but at least she has several quardian angels watching over her. And a lot of them on YT. Thank you all again for everything the prayers and pms they meant a lot to us. God Bless you all |
