Is licking a sign of bordom or affection? Bella just LOVES to give kisses When you pick her up close to your face she will immediately kiss you know matter who you are and I know that that is kisses, but sometimes when she is just sitting on me she will lick away at my hand and I was just curious as to weather this was "kissing" or "bordom"? :mtongue: :kiss3: |
I really want to think that when Bobbi does the same thing to me........it is because he loves me :D He does tend to want to lick me when I put lotion on.......:p |
I had a chi when I was growing up that would lick and lick and lick and lick forever...she just loved to lick! I think she was trying to clean me, or that she liked the salty taste on my skin. She also LOVED it when I'd put on lotion, and she'd lick that off too. I think some dogs just like to "Clean" more than others-while some are just face kissers. :D |

Haha, tell me about it. My cat has OCD. He licks all day, all night. He is very affectionate but his tongue is like sandpaper and I have to get away from him :( He grooms both dogs as well and even the carpet and scratch post  |
Max licks my lips for as long as I'll let him when we wake up. He also licks me after I eat so that's for food and he loves lotion so I have to be careful with medicine. I just read something about dogs licking - sometimes it for affection, sometimes submission, food, they're cleaning you and sometimes even for dominance. I decided there were too many maybes and I'm going to take the morning licks as love. |
