My 3 furbabies sleep with us. Our bed is high and we have a pet stairs that they use anytime they want to go to the litter pan to do their business. |
M Molly sleeps with me since day 1. The trainer insisted tht she will not consider me Alpha, but she does. I insisted that this was non-negotiable - it was my need to have her sleep with me since I was still grieving for my husband. She sleeps better in bed than I do - less movement! Kathy |

All three of ours sleep with us and have since they were small. Its a very comforting feeling. Our kitties would love to sleep with us too but they move around too much throughout the night to we just shut the bedroom door. The kitties roam the house and the pups sleep tight :) |
Bella's only slept with us one night. She was trying to scratch her way through her canvas kennel (I since put her in a larger wire one and just boxed it smaller) She'll be crate trained until she's potty trained then allowed sporadically to sleep with us like our lab does. Our lab is a bed hog. |
Mugzy has slept with us from the beginning too. There's nothing closer to heaven than two pounds of puppy draped across your neck, or curled in the crook of your arm. He's pretty good, if he gets off the bed, it's out to the potty. If it happens more than two times, then it's in the crate next to the bed, where he'll settle down and fall asleep. If he wakes later, I let him back up on the bed. The only problem we have is if the cat comes into the room at nite, then he's barking and growling at her, so we just keep the door shut.:aimeeyork |
Hey its not just Yorkies that wake at 4am, I don't have a Yorkie anymore, she died at Christmas and at the moment she can't be replaced, Im still grieving for her so it would be unfair to get a new Baby until im ready, but anyway, I have cats and one of my cats gets up 4am every morning and starts doing his howling cat type talk, so every morning Im up too at 4am, I have to get up for work at 6am so during the week I don't get much sleep! :cat: |

As far as I can see about dogs sleeping in bed, the answer is "No." Pretty much everything I've read about it deals with the fact that in order to be the alpha pack leader, the dog can't sleep with you. Of course, Max sleeps with me every night. So much for the expert advice in my world! |
Where else would they sleep ;) I think you should let her sleep with u! |
Exactly....Where else would they sleep? Dogs sleep in packs so it makes sense for them to sleep with us ;) |
I've had my baby Skampi for three weeks he is 11 weeks old and he sleeps either on my bed or my son's bed (he is 13) He has never had an "accident" on either bed he just whines to get down & goes straight to his newspaper then comes back to bed. He stays in bed sleeping as long as I do even if I have a lie in! It's lovely having him on my bed and it's a fight beween me & my son as to who will have him each night. I did buy a crate & tried it but he hates it. He is newspaper trained now (still having the odd accident each day tho):) |
Lily sleeps with me, but I keep a paper down at night just in case, then if she needs to go she gets up and goes on the paper. I love her in bed with me. |

These little doggie steps a couple of people have mentioned? They sound great...I have to lift Skampi on & off the bed. Where could I get these doggie steps? I am in the UK and have never seen them here. |
I lets jewls sleep with my wife and I. As long as you dont roll over on her and smash her so she cant breath. My yorkie always seems to get out of the way when uncomfortable. If you let them sleep wit you once they will always want to. Good Luck! |
